Underwater Temple in Sangkhlaburi, Kanchanaburi
Location: Underwater Temple
Sangkhlaburi, Kanchanaburi
Atmosphere: Ancient and considered an 'Unseen in Thailand' destination. Visiting today, the temple remains in its original state, showcasing its beauty. You can rent a boat to visit three temples for 500 Baht. The evening atmosphere is serene, with stunning views and a pleasant vibe. One of the temples, Wat Somdet Kao, requires a hike to reach. There, you'll meet young guides who share stories about the temple while earning money for their education. This is a must-visit spot if you're in the area.

🌳 Sangkhlaburi, the city of fog, Kanchanaburi 🌿
Sangkhla Buri, a city with a Mon and Karen lifestyle. For tourists like us who have been here, we must have fallen in love with this city immediately. Whether it's the slow-life lifestyle, friendly people, fresh air, and being very close to nature. In terms of accommodation, there are many places to choose from at various prices, ranging from hundreds to thousands, depending on each person's convenience. I really want many people to come and experience this place like us. 🤍

Come be a Mon girl for a day.
Uttamanusorn Bridge (Mon Bridge) is the longest wooden bridge in Thailand, with a length of 850 meters and is the second longest wooden bridge in the world after U Bein Bridge in Burma. It crosses the Songkhla River and was built under the initiative of Luang Por Uttama.

Atmosphere: The morning view is incredibly beautiful, and the atmosphere is great. It's a perfect spot for camping and relaxing. The restrooms are very clean, and the food at the welfare shop is delicious. The coffee shop is also quite good. Many visitors stop here to rest before hiking up to Khao San Nok Wua. The staff will open registration and weigh your luggage if you want to hire a porter at around 8:00 AM. After that, you'll take a 4WD vehicle to the starting point, which is a military area where private cars are not allowed.

Road trip, driving around Kanchanaburi for 3 days and 2 nights
🚘 Get ready to travel ,,, Today we will drive to Kanchanaburi. Kanchanaburi Province is quite large. The tourist attractions focus on nature. Therefore, it is necessary to drive a private car.
🌿 We started our journey from Bangkok at 8 am. Drive to the first destination, which is the Bridge on the River Kwai, a check-in point that everyone must come to. We stayed nearby. In order to travel to the village in Sangkhlaburi tomorrow morning.
📷 DAY 2 We drove out of the accommodation around 9:30. The first stop was Mallika City, a beautiful replica city from the reign of King Rama V. There are many activities to do. Then we drove to Erawan Waterfall. It is very beautiful. And traveled to stay the second night in Sangkhlaburi.
☀️ DAY 3 We woke up early to give alms at the Mon Bridge and took a boat trip on the Sangkhlaburi River. Walked around there. Then returned to the accommodation To check out and travel back to Bangkok

Take a morning boat trip to see the way of life of Sangkhlaburi people 🌊
☀️ This trip we had to wake up very early. Gammy and her friends came to visit Sangkhla Buri District, Kanchanaburi Province, to make merit in the morning at Saman Mon and also bought a boat trip.
🌊 The trip costs 500 baht per boat, can seat 4 people. The boat driver guide will take us to important tourist spots, such as the sunken temple and the old temple that is far away, taking about 40 minutes.
🚣🏻♀️ The sunrise in the morning is very beautiful. We took the boat at 6 am, which is just right. The weather is not too hot. Each stop will give us time to go up and take pictures and worship without having to rush.

Offering alms in the Mon way🍂Found only here at “Mon Bridge”
#CulturalTourism
#CulturalTourism #100TravelWays
🍂 Travel near the border of Kanchanaburi, “Mon Bridge”. The bridge is suitable for walking around in the early morning to give alms to monks in the morning.
🌿 The Mon way of life in the community is a rare sight nowadays, such as bowing down to the floor to pay respect to the monks (Mon people must sit on the floor and bow down to the monks like this every time) and the clothes they wear, such as Mon sarongs, Mon clothes, curled hair, and Thanaka powder makeup, etc. Preparing everything in the early morning indicates determination, modesty, and respect for Buddhist monks according to one of the Mon traditions.

Travel to Sangkhla for 3 days and 2 nights
#TravelPlan
🚍 During the rainy season, I planned to travel to Kanchanaburi and ended up with a 3-day, 2-night trip to Sangkhlaburi by public transport. For those who want to sit comfortably and not drive themselves, let's prepare.
📌 Let's start on the first morning, which is the travel day by bus from the Transport Company at Mo Chit, leaving at 7:30 a.m. There is only one round. It was a long journey. We arrived in Sangkhla at almost 3:00 p.m. The bus stopped right on the walking street, but there weren't many shops there yet. We went to our accommodation to rent a motorbike first, so it would be more convenient.
📌 The first activity was to take a boat to see the sunken church, which took about 2 hours. We went to the shore to find food on the walking street. It was quiet at night, so we could go to our accommodation to sleep.
📌📌 On the second day, we woke up early and had to give alms at the Mon Bridge. We went to buy alms and Mon clothes for 100 baht. Then we went to Wat Luang Pho Uthama. In the late morning, we drove to the Three Pagodas Pass, which took about an hour. Along the way, we stopped by waterfalls and cafes.
📌📌 When we got back, we ate at the walking street as usual because we hadn't eaten enough yesterday. After that, we went back to our accommodation and slept.
📌📌📌 On the third day, we had to wake up and catch the bus at the same place at 8:30 a.m. Of course, there was only one round as usual. We sat all the way to Bangkok until late afternoon.

Accommodation by the reservoir with a view of the Mon Bridge
#Review of beautiful accommodation
🏠🏠 Today I had the opportunity to visit Sangkhlaburi. While taking a boat to see the dam, I came across a beautiful accommodation, P Guesthouse and Country Resort, located at 81/2 Moo 1, Nong Lue Subdistrict, Sangkhlaburi District, Kanchanaburi Province. It is a country-style resort located on the high bank of Khao Laem Reservoir.
🪵🛖 The rooms here have various prices, both shared bathrooms and private bathrooms. The main decoration is made of stone. There is also a tent site. The room decoration style is western country style.
🏠🛖 On this trip, we chose to stay in a shared bathroom, which means that about 4 rooms will share the bathroom. But the bathroom is very large. It is not crowded or have to wait in line. In front of the room, there are 2 wooden chairs for you to sit and relax while watching the river view.
📌📌 The highlight of this place is the raft parked by the river. You can sit down and relax, watch the sunset, or even sit and play or jump into the water. In the morning, if you wake up in time, you will see fog on the water surface and on the mountain. It is very beautiful. If you think you can't wake up, you should set your alarm clock to see it. I guarantee that it is worth it.

Sangkhlaburi has the best view ever!
Sangkhlaburi, a small town in Kanchanaburi Province, has the culture of 3 races: Thai, Mon, and Karen. Experience nature and the way of life of the villagers. Visit the Mon Bridge, the longest wooden bridge in Thailand. There are Mon villagers selling things and carrying things on their heads, which is the charm of this bridge. If you go during the winter, in the morning, you will see fog. At night, the Mon Bridge is just as beautiful as during the day.
For those who have never been there, I would like you to try to go see it because last year I went twice and I still like it.
And stop by to pay respect to Luang Pho Uttama at Wat Wang Wiwekharam, make merit, ask for blessings. ❤️✨💜#Sangkhlaburi #Thailand #Travel #Kanchanaburi #Kanchanaburi is worth visiting #Kanchanaburi is worth visiting #Mon Bridge #Beautiful temples in Thailand #Thai temple

Accommodation next to the river, decorated in a country style
You can see the view of the Mon Bridge
Let me tell you that the atmosphere is really great
💚💚 Honestly, when thinking of slow life
"Sangkhla Buri" is another place that comes to mind first
With a unique identity
Making every visit must be impressive
Go back every time And this time is the same...
🏞 The accommodation that we would like to recommend is not far from the Mon Bridge
Most importantly, the price is very good because it starts at only 450.- !!
Seeing this, I must say that the facilities are complete.
And there are many fun activities to do.
Whether it's cycling, canoeing, making merit in the morning,
a boat trip to see the sunken temple, or for those who like camping,
here they also have an area for you to reserve a tent.
If anyone still can't think of where to go, I recommend this for a short trip.
Try to come and experience the atmosphere here once. You will fall in love with this city like us...

Visit the Three Pagodas Pass
Travel to a city in a historical land, an important checkpoint where Burma used to move its army through Thailand since ancient times. It is a Thai-Mon community with a charming way of life that has long been strung together. At the western border of Thailand, there is a Mon community market with many Burmese snacks to choose from. You can also travel to nearby Burma. There is a Hundred Pillars Temple that you can go back and forth in 1 day.

Offering alms to monks and making merit at the Mon Bridge, Sangkhlaburi District, Kanchanaburi Province
Offering alms to monks at the Mon Bridge, Sangkhla Buri District, Kanchanaburi Province
There will be an alms-offering activity in the Mon style, which is an old tradition that the villagers have inherited. Every morning at around 06.30-07.00, we can buy an alms-offering set for 100 baht. In 1 set, there will be an alms-offering set + a Mon male or female set to choose from. There are many shops that offer alms-offering sets at the entrance to the Mon Bridge. Then, we will walk across the bridge to the other side to offer alms to the monks. It is very fulfilling. The people there are very lovely.

🕍 Wat Sri Suwan (Old)
🛕 This temple was built as a representative of the Karen people because its name is similar to Phra Si Suwannakiri, the governor of Sangkhla Buri. It is the oldest temple among the three temples.
🕋 The temple is located at the end of the Rantee River and is quite lower than Wat Wang Wiwekaram (old), so this area is flooded all year round and is submerged in water⛩ the most. When the water rises, only some parts will be exposed or sometimes completely submerged. The only thing that can be seen is the top of the original bell tower, which is above the water. This is during the late rainy season and early winter, from around October to January.
⭐️ During the dry season, the water behind the dam will decrease a lot, so you can walk in and visit the old church in the Sam Prasob area. You should visit during the summer, from around March to April.

🕌Old Somdej Temple
🕍 Wat Somdet (old) built by Phra Khru Wimolkanchanakun, the abbot of Nong Lu sub-district, located on a small hill, is the only temple that was not submerged in water, but was abandoned when the Sangkhla Buri district was moved.
🛣 When the Vajiralongkorn Dam (Khao Laem Dam) was built, inside the chapel, there was a replica of Phra Buddha Chinnarat, which is still relatively intact. Around the chapel, there are large banyan trees covering it, giving it a mystical and ancient beauty.
🛕 More than just taking a boat trip to see nature on the shore, we will see the strong faith of the villagers who strongly believe in Buddhism, and the good public relations of Sangkhla etc., which creates jobs and stimulates the economy as long as the trend of taking a boat trip to see sunken temples continues in Sangkhla Buri.

🎀 Underwater temple, over 100 years old
🥇 Wat Wang Wiwekharam (formerly) is a tourist attraction that is considered an Unseen Thailand that you must not miss because there are ancient ruins submerged underwater. It was originally a temple of Luang Por Uttama, built from the power of devotion to Luang Por Uttama. The temple is located on a high hill called Sam Prasob, which is the point where three rivers, the Songkhla River, the Bikli River, and the Rantee River, flow together. Later, the Khao Laem Dam or Vajiralongkorn Dam was built. Later, the dam was built to generate electricity, so the water flooded the original place, so many people called it the underwater city.
🎈 Highlights of Wat Wang Wiwekharam If you want to walk in and see the beauty with your own eyes, you must come during March to May because the water in the river will be much lower, so you can walk into the church. But if you come during the winter or after the rainy season, you can only see the underwater temple by taking a boat near the church.
🎫 Although Wat Wang Wiwekharam is just one tourist attraction, the tourist seasons are clearly different. Each season offers different beauty. But if you can come in every season, it would be fun too.

💙Wat Wang Wiwekharam (new)
🥳 Wat Wang Wiwekharam (new) - Sangkhla Buri After taking a boat to see the old temple, let's go ashore to Wat Wang Wiwekharam (new). When we arrive at this temple, we will feel the atmosphere of an ancient Burmese temple because most of the architecture is Burmese-Mon art.
🎀 There are 3 places that you must visit when you arrive.
🥇 The first place is to pay homage to the remains of Luang Pho Uttama in the beautiful Mon castle. It is enshrined in the pavilion.
🥈 The second place is to pay homage to Luang Pho Khao, a marble Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya posture, weighing 9 tons, enshrined in the marble Buddha statue chapel.
🥉 The third place is to visit the ordination hall, which is built in beautiful Burmese art. Most of the ordination halls at this point are closed. They are not often open.
💙 For me, paying homage to Luang Pho Uttama at Wat Wang Wiwekharam feels very good. I got to worship and be filled with merit. Take beautiful pictures, feel satisfied, learn about the history of the temple with many good stories and recharge yourself with merit to continue fighting.

💙The center of the heart of 2 races
🎯 I saw the golden pagoda that caught my eye since I was staying at the hotel and thought that I had to find a way to pay homage. Because in addition to the beautiful nature of Sangkhlaburi, there are also important ancient sites of Buddhism that Thai people and Thai people of Mon descent have paid homage to, which is the Buddha Gaya Pagoda.
🎀 The Buddha Gaya Pagoda is a golden yellow color that is very grand and magnificent. When I decided to come here, I had to go see its grandeur.
🍀 The Buddha Gaya Pagoda is a replica that contains the relics of the Buddha that Luang Por Uttama invited from Sri Lanka to be enshrined in the pagoda for Thai people to pay homage to. The pagoda is also a symbol of Buddhism, a place of spiritual support for auspiciousness in life.
🤞 It is also the center of various ceremonies on important Buddhist days and festivals. There will also be an event similar to Luang Por Uttama's birthday. Every February
