Chi Chang Temple (Chi Chang Temple)
#Wat Chi Chang (慈善寺)
A beautiful Chinese temple in the heart of Hat Yai. It is a temple under the Chinese Sangha of Thailand. It is located on Supasarnrangsan Road, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province.
It was built around 1936 by Mr. Keng Tang Lao, a Chinese who came to do business in Hat Yai.
It is a Chinese temple of the Mahayana sect in Buddhism. The Chinese architecture is beautiful, with the roof, walls, and pillars carved in beautiful patterns unlike anywhere else. The building is decorated with Thai, Chinese, and Tibetan art, and the patterns on the tiled walls are beautiful and unique. Inside, there are Guan Yu, Guanyin with a thousand arms, and a Buddha statue in the attitude of stopping relatives, which we can go in and worship to ask for blessings and good fortune.

The most lovely Chinese temple in Thailand
If this is not the cutest Chinese temple,
Wat Chi Chang, Hat Yai!
A Chinese temple decorated mainly in white and decorated with colorful patterns of tiles, walls, pillars, animal zodiacs, and flower patterns. Everything is very pleasing to the eyes and mind.
In the past, 'Wat Chi Chang' was not like this. But after the major flood that damaged the entire city, it was completely demolished and rebuilt. It became like this. Anyone who comes to Hat Yai must stop by.
If you are not a religious person, I would like you to try to stop by. Come and see the art.
Because it was newly built, it is really beautiful.

Famous Chinese historical temple attractions in Hat Yai, Thailand: Charity Temple วัดฉื่อฉาง หาดใหญ่, suitable for taking photos 📸 Check in and pray
#2024Travel Review
Hat Yai, Thailand is a world-famous tourist resort city, with thousands of tourists coming here for sightseeing and vacation every day. There are many Chinese cultural relics and temple attractions in Hat Yai. This time I will introduce a Chinese cultural temple that I visited in 2024: Cihan Temple วัดฉื่อฉาง หาดใหญ่. Free to visit and take photos📸, no tickets required. The temple was built by the first generation of Chinese who came to Hat Yai, Thailand. It has a history of hundreds of years after six or seven generations. The temple building is magnificent, and the exterior structure decoration is full of Chinese cultural and artistic style. It is exquisite and very suitable for taking pictures📸, and it will definitely be a great photo. Praying in the temple is very effective, and many local residents come here to pray every day. There are not many tourists in the temple, it is quiet and peaceful, suitable for a person to visit and take pictures quietly. There are public toilets and chairs for tourists to rest in the temple.

"Visiting Chue Chang Temple in Hat Yai was such an incredible experience! The temple is so vibrant and full of beautiful details. I loved the unique blend of Chinese and Thai architecture—it really makes the place stand out. The atmosphere was peaceful, and it felt so relaxing to walk around and take everything in. If you’re into photography, there are so many picturesque corners to capture. Plus, it’s a great spot to learn about local culture and traditions. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Hat Yai!"

Wat Chi Chang ... near Kim Yong
When you come to Hat Yai, don't forget to stop by to take a picture of Wat Chi Chang in Hat Yai. The location is near Kim Yong Market. You can walk there or if you are afraid of getting tired, there are many taxis in that area. It is a very beautiful temple. The hotel we stayed at was on the 12th floor. Looking out the window, you can see the view of Hat Yai city. At that time, the sky was starting to get cloudy like it was going to rain. But when walking around, the weather was not hot at all. The market in front of the hotel has a constant breeze. There is a lot of food. But I forgot to take a picture with my phone to show you. Next time I go, I will take a picture and post it for my friends to see. #100 ways to travel 🕰️bOpening hours: #Review of beautiful accommodations #Beautiful places to take pictures #trip

In addition, there are many foreign tourists and Thai tourists who come to pay homage every day without fail. The chapel just had the foundation stone buried in September 2024. The chapel was opened for visitors for the first time. The chapel has 4 floors in total, which has attracted a lot of attention from tourists. #Get a discount without relying on luck

"Wat Chi Chang", a Chinese temple in the heart of Hat Yai city.
"Wat Chi Chang" or in Chinese "Chi Xiang Yi", which translates to "Wat Metta Kuson", is a Mahayana Buddhist temple. There are both Buddha statues and various deities for worship. It stands out prominently in the heart of the city in the commercial area of Hat Yai, near Kim Yong Market. Inside the temple is a 4-storey building with beautiful art that combines Thai, Chinese and Tibetan styles. Tourists all say that this temple has an atmosphere like a temple abroad. It's like going to Hong Kong.

Wat Chi Chang was originally a small shrine with the statue of the god Li Zhou, one of the 8 immortals.
Later, the revered monk Uay Zhong asked to upgrade it to a Mahayana temple.
In 1991, a new chapel was built to replace the one that was flooded. The temple is designed with Thai, Chinese, and Tibetan architecture, which is uniquely beautiful. If you come here, you can also worship many gods. The food in this area is delicious.

Wat Chi Chang, Songkhla Province
Wat Chi Chang, Songkhla Province
🙏This temple is called "Chi Xiang Yi" in Chinese. If we translate it into Thai, it means "Wat Metta Kuson", which is a temple in Mahayana Buddhism. In the past, this temple was just a small shrine with the deity Lu Zhou (one of the 8 immortals) as the presiding deity. People generally call this shrine "Lu Zhou Shrine".
🪷In 1988, Hat Yai City was hit by a major flood. Wat Chi Chang itself was severely damaged to the point that it could not be repaired. Therefore, the old chapel was demolished to build a new ubosot, a 4-storey reinforced concrete building designed in Thai, Chinese, and Tibetan art.
