Three Pools Mirroring the Moon refers to Santanyinyue Island, i.e. “Sanyingzhou.” Santanyinyue refers to the tips of 3 towers in the West Lake that indicate the water level in the lake, and these towers are 1 of 10 such scenic sights in the West Lake. Santanyinyue Island is one of the few islands in the West Lake that is accessible to visitors, and visitors need to board a West Lake ferry to reach the island. Cultural sights are concentrated on the north of the island. The tips of the 3 stone towers emerging from the lake surface are also a highlight of Santanyinyue.
