[2025 Singapore Restaurant] Travel Guide for SYIP (Luzerne) (Updated Apr)

SYIP has 2 outlets, one at Farrer road and Bendemeer road. I went to the one at Bendeemer road by chance, I supposed to go to another cafe but was attracted by the minimalist design of this place. This place is so cool and spacious, love the natural light of this place. We ordered a squid ink pasta with lobster bisque, it also came with 3 big prawns and the sauce was delicious ! It was so creamy and umami, but the portion is quite small, suitable for small eater. We also ordered a avacado on toast, love the kale chips on top of the toast, it adds an extra texture and crunchiness to the toast. We didn’t get a chance to try the desserts and coffee but would be happy to come here again. Hope you find this post helpful, enjoy! :)

#singapore Heavy weight amongst cafes in this neighborhood, SYIP needs little introduction. I think the crowd has become more manageable compared to its opening days which is great! Great ambience and atmosphere with a fair amount of seats. I've always liked their Kahlua tiramisu, with the right amount of moisture and wetness to it, though it is a little on the thin side compared to traditional tiramisu. Also always found their iced whites to be too diluted, they really should switch to larger and fewer ice cubes to control melting and dilution. Otherwise, coffee itself is yummy with great body to it. one of my fav go to cafes in the area.

#singapore Syip is a quaint cafe with two branches at Owen Road and Luzerne building. They have their limited edition Christmas menu for the festive season, with both branches selling mostly different items for their respective festive menus. Tried the peppermint mocha with the cute snowman made with marshmallows and Pocky chocolate sticks, and the Santa souffle pancake from the Luzerne branch. The cafe takes on the minimalist design with majority of the walls and furniture being white.

Spacious industrial cafe, SYIP’s second outlet is split into three sections - front with huge floor-to-ceiling glass windows, cosy alcove seatings and the main dining area. Interesting take on the local staple breakfast with the Kaya Butter French Toast ($17), brioche dotted with Dates “Kaya”, served with salted caramel butter and 63°C Furikake Egg. If you’re expecting French toast then you’re in for a disappointment like us. It has a more toasty texture like Yakun Kaya Toast rather than an eggy French toast. Guess that’s where the furikake egg comes in. But don’t leave without having their Kahlua Tiramisu ($12), which I love from their home-based days. So good that we were fighting over who got the last scoop. #singapore
