[2025 Budapest Attraction] Travel Guide for St. Stephen's Basilica (Updated May)

#MarchGoodPlaces2025 I discussed with my family for a long time and decided to spend the Chinese New Year in February this year. 11 days of free travel in Vienna and Budapest ✈️ Because the air tickets for the New Year are expensive, we chose a flight that connects in China. The airfare is about 31K Budapest, the capital of Hungary It is really a country where you can experience the European tourism atmosphere at a low cost. Although there has been some inflation and prices have risen a bit since the epidemic But compared to the cost in countries like France, Italy, etc. But it is much less! The Airbnb we stayed in Budapest this time was located opposite the Hungarian Parliament Building. Every time you get up early and at night, you can enjoy the super beautiful Capitol Building It is recommended that you buy a Budapest Card when you come to Budapest. This card allows free rides on subways, streetcars, buses, and many museums. The most worthwhile thing I think is that each card comes with a free cruise This is really a must experience! It’s so beautiful to sit on the boat and watch the Capitol at sunset and at night! If you have extra money, I recommend you go to other boats at your own expense to have free drinks. Or take a dinner cruise and have dinner while looking at the Capitol Building, which is more atmospheric! This time we traveled independently for 11 days and the total cost was about 60K! We cooked breakfast and dinner at Airbnb and had lunch at a restaurant outside. Eating out in Europe is more expensive. A meal for four people costs about 1,000 to 2,000 Taiwan dollars. If it is off-season, transfer from China The airfare is about 13K The cost can be reduced further to around 45K! Therefore, I really recommend everyone to travel to Budapest! ✈️ You can also travel to neighboring countries like Vienna and Slovakia!

When we went, mass was taking place, but we were able to visit. The interior of the church is elegant and gorgeous, with red marble columns and gold-painted murals, stained glass windows with St. Stephen's crown on the windows, a large wooden organ, and the treasure of the church, the "Holy Right Hand of the King", all of which are must-see selling points of St. Stephen's Basilica. After visiting the interior of the church, you can take the elevator to the top floor and enjoy a 360-degree view of Budapest city and the Danube River. The view is amazing! However, you need to pay to visit the top of the tower. One of the Budapest must visits. Come early as it's very busy here. I suggest getting the rooftop combo package. A striking basilica from outside, it's a great photo opportunity. Inside is mind blowing. Such beautiful and reverence. A true blessing to the almighty creator. There are roped off spots for quiet prayer and reflection. Please take your hat off indoors. A group of Chinese tourists unfortunately showed a lack of respect by refusing to do so. The treasure room is interesting with luxurious and historical relics from previous bishops. The rooftop had great views on rainy or sunny days. It's worth the extra effort. You can take the lazy elevator or take the stairs like I did. This is the only church we have in Budapest, so it looks extraordinarily serious. Although the churches in Europe seem to be similar, even the kind of glory is familiar, such as domes, murals, altars, and the organ behind them. But each church has its own soul. The biggest attraction of the church is not only the magnificent interior of the Neo-Renaissance style, but the right hand remains of the King of St. Estevan in the church. 1038 King St. Estevan died. His relatives took the right hand that symbolized the supremacy of the kingship and were preserved by the Hungarians as holy objects. You can enjoy just the outside of the Parliament Building, but I recommend taking a tour. There is a Japanese interpretation machine, so you can tour while listening to the explanation. It is easier to buy tickets in advance, but if you line up at the ticket counter from 8:00 a.m. on the day, you can get tickets on the day, so try to aim for that. The inside of the Buda Palace is a wonderful museum. The exhibits that run through the ages are very interesting, and it takes about 3 hours. However, you can go in and out many times throughout the day, so you can take a break at a cafe outside, take a walk, and enjoy the museum at your leisure. There are benches on the Danube River during the day, so if you bring snacks and coffee, you can spend a relaxing time. The Ferris wheel is also recommended. It goes around three times, so it's a culture shock! It's a great deal. The balloon is beyond Heroes' Square, and you can see a wide-scale view. There is also Széchenyi Hot Spring nearby. There are many fun places in this city that have a modern feel while also traveling back in time to the Middle Ages. Lindt chocolate is cheap! You can also buy Milka at the supermarket for 200 yen.

#EuropeanTravel 📍St. Stephen's Basilica located in the center of Budapest, Hungary 📍I bought a ticket to avoid the rain and went insideㅎㅎ For reference, the ticket office is not at the entrance(?) of the cathedral, but at the small indoor ticket booth across from the back, so don't get lost :) It cost about 10,000 won for adults to only see the inside of the cathedral. 📍St. Stephen's Basilica is a Roman Catholic chapel built from 1851 to 1905. It features a huge round roof and regular concerts are held there, so if you have time, I recommend watching a concert! 📍It's a very large cathedral, so the inside is gorgeous and amazing, but since there are so many buildings like this in Europe, I recommend deciding whether to buy a ticket or not based on your interests or the condition(?) at the timeㅎㅎ It's pretty even from the outside..!?

St. Stephen’s Basilica is an absolutely magical place to visit.The architecture is stunning, with intricate details and beautiful artwork everywhere you look. The moment you step inside, the atmosphere feels grand and almost surreal, especially with the light shining through the massive stained-glass windows. First of all, the Danube River Cruise🚢 was a truly wonderful memory. For 1980 yen per person, we received a glass of wine as a welcome drink. The golden Parliament Building was much more beautiful than we imagined. We couldn't just look at the Szechenyi Hot Springs, so we bought tickets and took a bath! There is no rental service for swimsuits and towels, so you have to buy them🥲The outdoor hot springs are clean and you can bathe surrounded by very beautiful buildings! The Central Market Hall sells a lot of sweets and key chains that are perfect for souvenirs. For food, we recommend eating at the restaurant attached to the building instead of the food stalls! All the food stalls were big and looked delicious, but the prices were just too high 😭 All the plates were almost 5000 yen. The restaurants were relatively cheap, had live music and other performances, and the staff were very friendly - it was really great!
