For now my favorite ancient park im Shanghai: the Hanxiang Water Culture Park, located approx 30km south-west from downtown. It takes a while to go there, but you definitely will not be disappointed if you like this old architecture from Ming & Qing dynasty with around 30 bridges.

The traditional Chinese Buildings in Shanghai Hanxiang Water Garden are a must to see in person. This whole majestic place was was established by around 3000 local village residents to use as a water ecosystem garden to secure the clean drinking water source from Huangpu river in Shanghai City. You are able to see the tranquil lakes, different types of bridges, various ancient buildings and a wide range of vegetation, but what make this park wonderful is definitely the architecture of every pavilion, building and bridge, it is so typical Chinese which is what as a tourist you are looking for. It is a good place with nice views to visit and relax. It is more comfortable to visit this park in the morning or late afternoon as the weather feels extremely hot in summer.
