After several name changes, it was finally named Qingyang Palace in the Song Dynasty. It covers an area of about 120,000 square meters, and its main buildings include the Mountain Gate, Sanqing Hall, and Tangwang Hall. The most worth seeing is the Bagua Pavilion, which is the most well-preserved and luxurious building, and enshrines a statue of Laozi riding a green ox. On December 5, 2024, we visited Qingyang Palace, located on the Second Section of West First Ring Road in Chengdu, Sichuan, for the Nth time. We entered the mountain gate of this famous Taoist temple in China, and visited the Hunyuan Hall, Bagua Pavilion, Sanqing Hall, and Tangwang Hall along the central axis, and then visited the Lecture Hall and Erxian Nunnery in reverse order. According to historical records, Qingyang Palace was built in the Zhou Dynasty and was originally called Qingyangsi. By the Ming Dynasty, the halls built in the Tang Dynasty were destroyed by war. Most of the existing buildings were rebuilt in succession from the 6th to the 10th year of the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty (1667–1671). We strolled through the halls of Sanqing Hall, Tangwang Hall, and Erxian Nunnery, admired the gods, and exchanged Taoist knowledge. It is worth mentioning that the huge ginkgo trees in the palace were all dressed in yellow winter clothes, and we captured the moment. In front of the core building of Qingyang Palace, Sanqing Hall, there are two bronze green sheep, which are the treasures of Qingyang Palace. The one on the left is a single-horned green sheep, and the one on the right is a double-horned green sheep. According to folklore, touching the green sheep is good for health. As ordinary people, we also left handprints on the shiny bronze sheep.
