We boarded the 911 bus from Woodlands Bus Interchange, and by 9:30 AM, we arrived at JB CIQ. A swift Grab ride took us to the bustling Jalan Dhoby area, where our first stop was Tian Xin Lou, a charming Cantonese-style dim sum haven. We indulged in a tempting assortment of freshly steamed dim sum—pillowy buns, delicate dumplings, and crispy delights, each bursting with authentic flavors that set the stage for the day. At 10:30 AM, we wandered over to Bei’s Pastry, right next door, and were instantly drawn to their signature Taro Xiao Bei. The soft, cloud-like pastry encased a luscious, mildly sweet taro paste, offering a delightful balance of texture and flavor. It was the perfect follow-up to our dim sum breakfast. By 10:45 AM, we found ourselves at Pacific Kopi, just across the street. The warm, inviting café provided a cozy spot to unwind with a cup of freshly brewed coffee and their famed 3-in-1 purple fried nian gao. The crispy, golden exterior of the rice cake gave way to a chewy, satisfying bite, making it the perfect companion to our coffee. Palates & Bagels by T.A.M - Melodies of Thai Five of us went out for dinner Overall, I am satisfied and recommend it👍👍👍 Five items: Green curry pasta, Aglio olio pasta, crabmeat fried rice, bagel nin (lamb), bagel dino (chicken) The fried rice is what I am most satisfied with. Although I cannot understand why the edible green onion is used as a decoration, wouldn't it be more convenient for me to eat it if you cut it into pieces? The two pastas are also very tasty. I like them. The bagels are really good and taste great. The portion is so big that I can’t finish one by myself. I personally don't like eating too much meat in one meal. It makes me feel stressed. The lamb is a bit dry and not very well cooked. The chicken is more juicy. We arrived around 6pm and the beef tommy was sold out. Otherwise, we might have tried the beef one. #traveldiaries Visited palates and bagels at Johor Bahru Malaysia over the weekends. Food here is really good and they open really early. I love the bagels here as they are delicious and fresh, and portion is also very huge. Their iced matcha latte was also nice and refreshing on a hot and humid day. Overall would recommend and it’s not my first time here. Will definitely revisit in future!

Loved their americano as well; the pistachio cromboloni was a tad sweet for me but it was filled perfectly. Great food, cozy environment, overall highly recommend! would love to come back again.

We had an enjoyable brunch here. We love the wide selection of food and drinks. Food was tasty especially the bagels and I really like the crab meat carbonara and the pomelo and tiger salad. A suggestion to improve the service - be mindful of the special request/instructions given by customers coz it could cause delay in service. Other that that eveeything else is impeccable. Overall the food were satisfying. Maybe in future, it'll be good to have options for add-ons (e.g. avocado, salmon & eggs). Kudos nonetheless! Love the cosy ambience. Palates & Bagels Just seeing the name on the map, I thought that this shop's bagels must be delicious. The shop is a bit lofty. Most of the customers are teenagers who come in groups of friends. There are 2 floors, the 2nd floor has an outdoor area. The shop has a good vibe. Cafe lovers should like it. We tried the Original bagel. The bread was delicious, fragrant, not too chewy, and the piece was quite big. Spreading it with Unsalted butter was really good. Eating it with hot coffee in the morning must be so great.
