| Is Belgrade worth visiting? If it weren't for the need to buy a plane ticket, I wouldn't even know the name Belgrade. The Sava River splits Belgrade into two, with the classically elegant old town on one side and the modern new town on the other. Personally, I think Belgrade is worth a day and a half. ✨St. Mark's Church Its appearance looks as if it's built from blocks, with its flesh-pink walls and dark red lines making it stand out. The dome lacks ornate frescoes, opting for simplicity and brightness. ✨Kalemegdan Fortress Watching the sunset here is breathtaking, as the drooping sun bathes the rooftops, and the orange-yellow sun descends slowly like a yolk. ✨National Museum of Serbia Located near Republic Square, I unexpectedly discovered masterpieces by artists such as Pissarro, Mondrian, Matisse, and Poussin. ⭐️Zemun Town The commercial pedestrian street along the Danube River is lined with restaurants. However, the alleys present a different scene, with quaint old houses and mottled walls, exuding more of an Eastern European charm. ✨To capture the iconic photos, one must wander through the streets to find the highest point of Zemun—Gardos Tower, where you can have a 360-degree view of the town's red roofs and the winding blue Danube in the distance. This winter, I embarked on a journey to Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. With its unique historical heritage and rich cultural charm, it has become a bright spot in the winter. 🌈✈ First Impression of Belgrade: A Blend of History and Modernity🏛🌆Belgrade, located at the heart of the Balkan Peninsula, sits at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers and is known as the "Key to the Balkans"🗝. Although the temperature is low in winter, the sunlight shines through the clouds and onto the ancient buildings, creating a unique atmosphere. I strolled through the streets, feeling the blend of history and modernity in this city. Exploring Cultural Treasures: Museums and Historical Sites🏛👣Belgrade is home to many cultural and artistic institutions, making it a paradise for culture lovers. I first visited the National Museum of Serbia, which houses a wealth of historical artifacts that gave me a deeper understanding of Serbian history. 🏛Then, I went to the Belgrade Military Museum, which showcases the development of Serbian military history and commands respect. 🛡 Of course, I couldn't miss the Kalemegdan Fortress, an ancient fortress located at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers, which has witnessed the vicissitudes of Belgrade's history. 🏰Standing atop the fortress, overlooking the entire city, I couldn't help but feel a surge of ambition. Culinary Exploration: A Feast for the Taste Buds🍽🤤Belgrade's cuisine is also a highlight. I tried the local traditional dishes, and each dish was full of surprises. Especially the unassuming yet delicious Indian restaurant Raj On Taj, whose Indian curry and coconut chicken left a lasting impression on me. 🍛🥥If you're a food lover, don't miss it. Of course, desserts are also a must. In Hahndorf German Village, I found a chocolate shop where the hot chocolate and chocolate waffles were a perfect match! 🍫🧁 Winter Sunshine: Accommodation🌞🛏 In Belgrade, there are plenty of accommodation options. Founded in 1844, it is the largest and oldest comprehensive museum in Serbia, with a total collection of more than 400,000 pieces ranging from the Paleolithic Age to modern times. Painted around 1080, the Ktetorial Portrait of King Mihailo Vojisavljević is a copy of a fresco in the Church of St Michael in Ston, Croatia. Mihajlo Vojisavljevic was the ruler of the Dekeriya region. Records from 1077 mention that the Roman Curia called him king, indicating that he had been crowned before that year. This portrait of the king dedicating the Church of St. Michael to the Lord is the oldest surviving Serbian portrait. "Italian Winegrower" was painted by Katarina Ivanović in 1842. The vines, grapes, peaches and other fruits are bright in color, and the natural and delicious aroma seems to overflow from the canvas. The hat worn by the character and the gestures show a feminine look. "St. George" was painted by Pavle Simić in 1850, who injected romantic sentiment into this work. St. George pierces the long handle into the body of the dragon with extremely elegant movements, while the angel behind him presents him with a head ring. The work does not show the fierceness of the battle, but instead seems to read compassion from the expressions of St. George and the angel. The Burning of the Remains of St. Sava was painted by Stevan Aleksić in 1912. It depicts the burning of the remains of Saint Sava in Belgrade in 1594 by the Ottoman Empire. Saint Sava is the spiritual belief of the Serbian people. The work well expresses the various emotions of different people in the crowd. "St. Sava Blessing the Little Serbs" was painted by Uroš Predić in 1921. It is a neoclassical work. St. Sava was the son of Stefan Nemanja I, the founder of the medieval Serbian Nemanja dynasty. The Archbishopric of Serbia he established was recognized by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and the Byzantine Emperor, and he himself became the first archbishop of Serbia. The Wedding of Emperor Dušan was painted by Pavle Paja Jovanović in 1900 and depicts the wedding of Serbian Emperor Stefan Dušan, who founded the Serbian Empire, which became the most powerful country in the Balkan Peninsula, with two-thirds of the peninsula's territory incorporated into the empire.

There are many bookstores and souvenir shops along the street to browse. 7️⃣ Belgrade Fortress A castle located at the very north of the 6️⃣ shopping street, interesting for those who are into history, with an entrance fee of 120 dinars.
