The thousand-year-old ancient temple, Jingci Temple, where you can listen to the 'Evening Bell at Nanping' and watch the 'Leifeng Pagoda in the Sunset', was built by King Qian Chu of Wuyue for the eminent monk Yongming Yanshou. He once used treasury money to release lives, and later became the first abbot of Jingci Temple. Emperor Gaozong of Song decreed to change the Shouning Temple to 'Jingci Zen Temple', which has the reputation of 'Jingci in the South, Lingyin in the North'. The foodie Su Shi once brought prostitutes to challenge the temple, and Emperors Kangxi and Qianlong personally wrote the temple plaque. The famous temple produces eminent monks.
