This place just takes my breath away! I guarantee that this is the best observation deck on the Mekong and it is just fantastic. Mekong Skywalk is located 5 kilometers from the town of Chiang Saen near the Nimit Chedi Temple. Otsula is perfectly visible both Thailand and Laos, which lies on the other side of the Mekong River.
Tips for visiting: you can't get here by public transport, so either take a tuk-tuk, or try to rent a bike in Chiang Saen. The cost of visiting the observation room is 40 baht per person.

Take a car to the northernmost point of Chiang Saen, the border of three countries.
There is a Wat Phra That Pha Ngao with a skywalk to see the view of the Mekong River and the view of Laos. 🥰
🗓️Travel planning: Take the Sombat Tour bus from Bangkok to Chiang Saen. There is 1 trip per day. You have to book in advance.
🏖️Environment/Facilities: There are many resorts, hotels, and homestays at reasonable prices on the banks of the Mekong River. The atmosphere is great.

Day Trip to Chiang Rai
🚇 Transportation: hire a car/small van for half a day
📷 Photo Spots: drive around the riverside that passes through ancient sites.
head over to the Golden Triangle, walk around the sidewalk for views of the Mekong, Laos and Myanmar.
Stop in between by any of the riverside restaurants for freshly cooked Thai dishes.
Next head over to the top of Wat Phra That Pha Ngao, and enjoy scenic views from the glass observatory (Mekong Skywalk).
Head over to town and spend an hour at the White temple, followed by the Blue temple (15-20minutes).
🍜 Local Cuisine: try fresh fishes, soup and veggies by the Mekong river
💡 Tips: Depending on your location (if staying in Chiang Rai) it might take an hour to 1.5 hours to reach the border area, would recommend to spend about 4 hours sightseeing and then enjoying lunch and light snacks. However if traveling from Chiang Mai, it will take around 4-4.5 hours, so start early morning.
