This time I booked accommodation and air tickets during the cherry blossom season, but because of the sudden cold wave this year, snow began to fall across Japan❄️, causing the cherry blossoms that were originally about to bloom to fall asleep again💤
The original forecast for the cherry blossoms was March 21, but on the 29th, all the cherry blossom viewing spots in Nagoya were in buds.
Fortunately, I found a tourist attraction online with convenient transportation to the city center and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, so I immediately set off for "Kōjiku-in Temple".
Take the Higashiyama Line from Nagoya Station to Fushimi Station, transfer to the Tsurumai Line to Arinaka Station, and walk for about 10 minutes. After exiting the station, the surrounding area is a quiet residential area. On the way, you will pass by Chukyo High School. The streets are very quiet and there are not many pedestrians on the road.
After arriving, I saw a large century-old weeping cherry tree at the door. Although there is only one cherry tree planted in the temple, it is the most lush one I have seen in this year's cherry blossom season! It looks spectacular too💕
There are not many tourists at this spot, which is very suitable for taking photos📸. The blue sky sets off the pink cherry blossoms🌸, and the breeze blows and there are cherry blossoms blowing snow, which is full of atmosphere~

Nagoya's hidden gem for cherry blossom viewing | Cherry blossoms at Kosei-jikuin

My babies! Be sure to come to Koseiji-in to experience this unique spring romance. When I arrived at around 4pm, I was really surprised that there was almost no one there!
Although this temple is not big, there are only three pairs of tourists in the whole courtyard. For those who love taking photos, it is simply a paradise and you can take pictures from any angle! I especially recommend the angles at the door and under the eaves. Through the doorway, you can capture the building and the petals falling in the wind. Add in the sunshine and the atmosphere will be maximized!
It may be because of the rain in the past few days. The flowers have started to fall slightly. Sisters who want to come here really need to hurry up.

🚇It takes about 30 minutes from Nagoya Station, and it is about a 10-minute walk from Arinaga Station. I personally think the cherry blossoms peeking out from the fences and wire fences along the way are also very beautiful, and they look like they are just in full bloom.
⚠️It should be noted that the temple is not big and you can finish the tour quickly if you don’t take photos. We came here after visiting the Kiso River embankment at noon, because there were fewer people, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and it was easy to take pictures. After the photo shoot, I left in a hurry because I had to catch a dinner appointment.
📒If sisters want to enrich their itinerary, it is recommended to arrange other attractions along the way, such as Tsuruma Park, Osu Kannon, etc.
At this moment, the cherry blossoms in Koseijikuin are falling gently, so of course I have to record them!

Cherry Blossom Viewing in Nagoya ~ These Lesser-Known Spots Are Incredibly Beautiful!
Cherry blossom viewing in Nagoya ~ These lesser-known spots: Kozokuin Temple, Arakogawa Park, Shirotori Garden, Tsuruma Park, and Todagawa Green Park ~ They're truly stunning!
The cherry blossoms at Arakogawa Park are in full bloom. Hundreds of Somei Yoshino cherry trees line the river, their branches extending almost to the water's surface. Visitors stroll along, cameras in hand, capturing these pink and white sprites. Occasionally, petals fall and float on the water's surface, spinning with the current before finally sinking. I suppose this is what they call "flower rafts," though no one recites poetry or pays tribute to them.
Around a few street corners is Kozokuin Temple. The temple isn't large, but it features a weeping cherry tree with branches cascading down like a waterfall. A sign beneath the tree indicates it's over a hundred years old. An elderly monk sweeps fallen petals with slow movements as they pile up at his feet. Several Western tourists marvel at the sight, taking photos before hurrying away, not noticing the Higan cherry buds under the temple corridor that are just beginning to bloom, with a sorrowful redness.
The cherry grove at Todagawa Green Park is the liveliest. People spread picnic blankets, drinking and singing, with petals falling on beer cans that no one bothers to brush away. In front of the dry landscape garden at Shirotori Garden, a weeping cherry tree creates an interesting contrast with the stone arrangements. Women in kimonos walking beneath it add a touch of traditional elegance. Around the fountain at Tsuruma Park, most cherry blossoms have already fallen, with the remaining petals mixed in muddy water, crushed to powder by passing pedestrians. Schoolgirls in uniforms laugh and take photos together, with bare branches as their backdrop—they arrived too late.
