Open up your experience to see art in the middle of a big forest🌿
#InsomniaExplore
"Khao Yai Art Forest" offers an experience of viewing art in the middle of a large forest, a new Art Destination of Khao Yai.
This time in Khao Yai, #InsomniaScene invites you to become a hiker and view art amidst nature at Khao Yai Art Forest.
Khao Yai Art Forest is an outdoor art space initiated by the concept of "healing through art", with the main aim of raising awareness about environmental conservation and inviting visitors to come back close to nature and rethink their relationship with the world.
Within the Khao Yai Art Forest area, there are contemporary art exhibitions from leading artists from both Thailand and abroad. Each piece is designed to blend in with the surrounding landscape, free from the limitations of traditional art galleries or exhibition spaces, and reflects the main concept of healing art, as follows:
🌫 Khao Yai Fog Forest by Fujiko Nakaya
A large fog sculpture created by technology to turn humidity in the air into water droplets, releasing fog to cover the forest area. It is an experience that combines mystery with a sense of calm.
🕷 Maman by Louise Bourgeois
A giant spider sculpture that represents the artist's mother. Both the originator and the weaver of the deep relationship between humans and nature.
🪨 Madrid Circle by Richard Long
A stone circle on a mountaintop, reflecting the idea of the cycle of life and inviting viewers to reconsider the relationship between humans and time.
🛕 Pilgrimage to Eternity by Ubatsat
Ten clay pagodas that gradually adapt to nature without intervention, akin to letting go according to Buddhist philosophy.
🗿 GOD by Francesco Arena
A conceptual art piece that hides the word “GOD” within two stones, presenting the presence of the divine in a form that does not necessarily need to be seen with the naked eye.
🍸 K-BAR by Elmgreen & Dragset
A pavilion bar that combines paintings and social activities in a natural space, creating a new dialogue between art, life and viewers.
📺 Two Planets Series by Araya Ratsadonjareonsuek
A video installation that opens up a space for ordinary people to interact with classical artworks, conveying a true sense of art through the eyes and voices of viewers from various backgrounds.
Although each work has different forms and contents, But they all reflect the same point: “restoration and healing” on both the individual and social levels through deep exposure to nature. Each artist presents their concepts while respecting the context of the area and allowing nature to be both a stage and a co-creator of the work.

Transportation Guide to Khao Yai Art Forest in Thailand | Explore the Secret Forest Art Realm
#Bangkok Transportation Guide
Khao Yai Art Forest, hidden in Thailand, is a niche treasure that art lovers must not miss! A three-hour drive from Bangkok will bring you to this "roofless ecological art museum". In the park, Bourgeois’ giant spider sculpture stands in the forest, contrasting with less than ten other works of art such as Fog Forest, bringing a shocking experience of the fusion of art and nature!
Transportation Guide:
- Self-driving: Start from Bangkok along Highway 304, the whole journey is about 180 kilometers and the driving time is 3-3.5 hours. The road conditions along the way are good, and you can go directly there by searching "Khao Yai Art Forest" on the navigation. Self-driving offers high flexibility and is suitable for travelers who want to explore the Khao Yai area in depth.
- Charter/rental car: If you don’t want to drive yourself, you can book a charter car service through the hotel or travel platform. The driver will provide pick-up and drop-off services, which are comfortable and convenient. The cost is about 2,500-3,500 baht (depending on the type of car).
- Bus transfer: Take a bus to Pak Chong from Mo Chit Eastern Bus Terminal in Bangkok (about 3 hours), then transfer to a taxi or songthaew to Art Forest (about 30 minutes). This method is cost-effective but requires multiple transfers.
Tips: The works are widely distributed in the park. It is recommended to wear non-slip shoes or use the overshoes provided by the park on rainy days; the Fog Forest is open for a limited time each day and only lasts 10 minutes, so be sure to plan your visit in advance. In addition, lunch and dinner provided by the park must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. If you don’t want to make a day trip, there are many unique hotels and resorts around Khao Yai. Staying overnight will allow you to fully appreciate the charm of art and nature!
