Visit the Traditional Hundred-Year-Old Handcrafted Umbrella Village in Chiang Mai: Bo Sang Umbrella Village.
Bo Sang Umbrella Village, the most popular umbrella-making center in northern Chiang Mai, is renowned for its hand-painted paper umbrellas. Similar to the Hakka oil-paper umbrellas of Meinong, these umbrellas are made with bamboo frames and mulberry bark, and are adorned with vibrant patterns, all crafted entirely by hand, making them highly artistic.
However, traditional craftsmanship is also in decline, and the number of tourists visiting Bo Sang Umbrella Village seems to be gradually decreasing. Fortunately, Chiang Mai hosts a grand oil-paper umbrella festival every January, during which Bo Sang Umbrella Village becomes the liveliest. Visitors can see beautiful women in traditional costumes holding paper umbrellas, showcasing the beautiful paper umbrella culture.
A typical day trip to the outskirts of Chiang Mai usually includes Bo Sang Umbrella Village, Inthanon Farm, and the Hundred-Year Happiness Village, where you can also savor authentic northern Thai cuisine.

Lao Bi Hotpot, authentic Chinese hotpot
#GetDiscountsWithoutLuck
Lao Bi Hotpot Lao Pi This shop is on the old San Kamphaeng Road, just before the Louis Silverware intersection. On the right-hand side is a row of shophouses with many Chinese restaurants. The Mala Shabu has well-sliced beef, lamb, but the pork is a bit tough. The sauce is prepared by yourself and has all the ingredients. It is delicious when eaten with Mala. The grilled Mala is very delicious. There is beef, lamb, pork belly, and Mala powder. Ordered Xiao Long Bao from the shop next door and it was delicious. Walk a little further and there is a Chinese supermarket. The shop is half air-conditioned. There is parking in the project.

Tani Tana
#Romantic accommodation Tani Tana Tani Tana is a beautiful and very romantic accommodation with a million-dollar view. The house is beautiful, minimalist, and very mini-hearted. This place is surrounded by nature, along a small stream, and the air is very good. In the middle of the night and early morning, it is 19-21 degrees. It is the best. There is breakfast and signature rabbit bread. 🤍 I must say that the owner of the accommodation pays attention to every detail. The facilities are complete, including a washing machine and a hair dryer. I am very impressed.

Chamcha Market: A Holiday-Exclusive Artsy Handicraft Market in Chiang Mai
Chamcha Market is a small weekend-only handicraft market located a bit far from Chiang Mai's city center, about a 20-minute drive from the Old City. Due to its smaller scale, it attracts fewer tourists, making it a comfortable place to stroll around without the crowds.
The market primarily features handmade crafts such as woven items, embroidery, and painted goods. Each stall offers unique and non-repetitive items, mostly with a Thai style and good quality. It's a treasure trove for those who love handmade crafts.
The market is covered with rain shelters and decorated with curtains, giving it a full artsy vibe. If you get tired, you can find a restaurant to rest or grab a cup of coffee. Overall, this market provides a very leisurely experience, allowing you to take your time exploring.

ฉำฉา Chamcha Market
#2024 Travel Review
ฉำฉา Chamcha Market A very interesting handmade market in Chiang Mai, starting from the ancient city and heading east in the small Mon community of Loang Him Kao. There is a weekend market that is about 30 minutes drive from the city center, and there are many various specialty restaurants and cafes around.
Chamcha Market is small, with less than 30 stalls, mainly handmade clothes grocery bags jewelry, the goods are quite exquisite overall, especially if you like dyeing, fabric and ethnic style, can buy. Many stall owners are residents of the village, selling authentic food, but more humanity, cheaper and less tourists.
Although not as big as Jing Jai Market, there are other options that are good. Finally, I would like to remind everyone again ~ this place is only open every Saturday and Sunday!

Lamunlamom Coffee ☕️
Another small but lovely cafe with a warm feeling, located in San Kamphaeng area. The shop is located at the entrance of the village. They serve drinks, steaks, spaghetti, salads, and one-dish meals. Importantly, the shop grows its own vegetables. They use salad vegetables for cooking. This is another cafe that is beautiful for taking pictures and has a classic feel.

Clay Pot Roasted Chicken: Delicious Clay Pot Roasted Chicken, San Kamphaeng, Chiang Mai
🐣 Kai Ob Ocha is a restaurant located in San Kamphaeng, Chiang Mai Province. It is opposite Lamun Lamom Coffee. It offers self-service. The atmosphere of the restaurant is a mix of outdoor camping zones, tents, a playground, a vegetable garden, and an indoor zone for parties, singing, meetings, and working spaces.
📝 The restaurant's signature dish is the clay pot roast chicken, marinated in a special recipe of spices, making the chicken dry but still soft, not tough, with a fragrant aroma of spices and a well-rounded taste. Another dish that you can't miss is the clay pot roast pork, served with a secret recipe dipping sauce and spicy papaya salad. The restaurant also offers freebies for children.

📍Take a tour of the village that is the origin of sky lantern production.
Ban Nong Khong, San Kamphaeng District, Chiang Mai is a village that is the origin of the production of floating lanterns with local wisdom that has been passed down for over 100 years. Lanna people will use lanterns in the Yi Peng festival, the full moon night of the twelfth lunar month because they believe that the light from the lanterns will help shine to lead a prosperous and happy life. But nowadays, lanterns are used in many ways, such as decorating hotels, resorts, temples, or government and private offices to create a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere in the Lanna style. Therefore, this village produces lanterns all year round, not just during Loi Krathong.
Every year before Loi Krathong, there are many orders for lanterns, so this village has a traditional event to show and demonstrate how to make lanterns. There are lanterns in cute shapes and lanterns made from recycled materials. Or if anyone is interested in learning how to make lanterns, there are free lessons here. Come visit or try making lanterns all year round. I highly recommend it.

มีนา มีข้าว Meena rice based cuisine
#tripแจกโรงแรมมีข้าว Meena rice based cuisine in San Kamphaeng, Chiang Mai Healthy restaurant with a Lanna atmosphere The concept of the restaurant is 'Because there is rice, there is rice'. The recommended menu is 5-color rice, consisting of jasmine rice, red brown rice, riceberry rice, safflower rice
and butterfly pea rice. Served with various dishes that we ordered, such as stir-fried pork with holy basil, stir-fried banana stem with shrimp, and tamarind chili paste. We also ordered grilled rice served with garlic pork to try. Every dish is arranged very appetizingly, playing with the colors of the ingredients beautifully. And most importantly, it's delicious! The atmosphere is also great. The restaurant is a northern Thai-style house located by the water. There are chic floor tables. Next to the entrance is a green rice field. The air is cool and comfortable from nature.

A Must-Visit for Chiang Mai Travelers! Weekend-Only Daytime Hipster Market
Chamcha Market ตลาดฉำฉา
Weekend-Only Daytime Hipster Market
Due to its slightly remote location from Chiang Mai city center and the fact that most people opt for the larger JingJai Market, this market doesn't attract many tourists.
It's very convenient to get here by car from the Nimman area or the Old City of Chiang Mai, even if you haven't rented a scooter. There are plenty of parking spaces, making it easy for those driving themselves.
The market can be roughly divided into two areas. The first area, which you encounter upon arrival, features a small section of clothes, accessories, and handmade items. I consider this area as an appetizer. As you go further inside, you'll find more handmade goods.
In my opinion, the items sold here are more refined than those at the night markets, and you won't have to worry about seeing the same designs everywhere since they are produced in limited quantities.
The market also has restaurants and coffee shops where you can take a break.

Come visit a cafe and visit the elephant house in the middle of the rice fields. Come sit and chill, eat food, snacks and drinks here. You won't be disappointed. The cafe is cute and the atmosphere is very good.
There's more than just a cafe. There are great photo spots, including the Stairway to Heaven, a long bridge in the rice fields, a swing ride, and you can also ride a bike.
There's also an elephant house here. You can play with the elephants. They're so cute. You can feed them up close.
The rooms are very clean and spacious, very quiet and private. If you're in Chiang Mai, don't miss this place.

Chiang Mai Exhibition | The annual international air show has a general sense of technology and a great experience
An unexpected gain from the Chiang Mai parent-child tour
The air show must be one of them
Some people may ask, can't you see such exhibitions in China?
Yes, the sense of technology here is general
But the experience is really the first time
First of all, you can watch the planes take off one by one in front of your eyes
If you really like the plane
You can ask its 'owner' to fly with you
Isn't it exciting
There are no fences set up here
On the premise of ensuring safety
Everyone can sit in the shadow of the plane's wings to cool off
For children
You can watch the engine, propeller, and cockpit up close
It's really exciting and happy
In early December each year, this air show festival will be held at the Chiang Mai Air Sports Airport
Take aviation projects as leisure sports and public welfare undertakings
Such as transporting the wounded, outdoor rescue, forest fire fighting, etc.
If you happen to have a parent-child tour schedule in December
Then don't miss the Chiang Mai International Air Show

Brand new Museum of Contemporary Art - MAIIAM
#Art
MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum, Chiang Mai is a museum for displaying contemporary art and artworks that the Bunnag family has collected for more than 30 years. It is also a space for other artists to hold exhibitions.
This museum was started by Jean-Michel Berdelay and Eric Bunnag Booze, his sons, who wanted to share their 30-year collection of contemporary art with the public and wanted people to have easier access to art, whether they were artists, art students, or even the general public. To pass on their inspiration, the couple started this museum project.
The first thing we encountered when we entered the exhibition area was an exhibition room that told the biography of Chao Chom Aiem Bunnag, the royal concubine of King Chulalongkorn, through various pieces of art. Eric Bunnag Booze intended to create it to dedicate to his great-grandmother, which is also the origin of the name of this museum. The word ‘Mai’ refers to Chiang Mai Province, while the word ‘Aiem’ comes from the name of Chao Chom Aiem Bunnag. In the same area, there is also a movie screening room, which the museum has a project to screen alternative films that may be hard to find in the future.
After walking around and seeing all parts of the museum, what we clearly noticed was the simplicity of the space, which is not decorated in any way other than each piece of art. This is one of the core values of this museum. “The main idea is that the architecture must not overpower the artwork. When we go to some museums abroad, we get annoyed that we see the building more than the artwork. As an architect, we get annoyed because we think that some artwork is much cooler than that. The architecture should be a place that makes the artwork or artistic activities stand out. This is what both the owner and us want,” concluded Phi Aon.
For us, the design of this building is not just about not overpowering the artwork. But this architecture, designed by a true art lover, would not be an exaggeration to be considered another piece of art.

Huen Jai Yong, delicious northern food at a very reasonable price.
#VisitChiangMai
Anyone who comes to visit Chiang Mai and wants to find authentic northern food, don't miss this!!! This restaurant, Huen Jai Yong, serves northern-style food, and is located in an ancient house with real antiques used for decoration. It's a feast for the eyes.
The prices are also reasonable, starting at 40-50 baht.
When you get the food, it feels like you're stopping by to eat at a friend's house, where their mother is from the North who cooked for you. It's so awesome!
There are local vegetables that are very beneficial, such as chiangda, to cook with. It's hard to find, but it has many benefits. Go read about it.
Sai Ua is also very delicious, really delicious.
Northern-style stir-fried minced pork with vegetables that are like the vegetables that locals in the North eat. It's so delicious. You have to tell others.
Since you're visiting the North, you have to try authentic northern food in a northern atmosphere.
Huen Jai Yong
Opens at 10am and closes at 4pm. We asked once.
You can find the coordinates on the map. It's exactly right. We recommend it if you don't want to miss out on delicious food. It really does exist. You'll know that the taste is different from restaurants in the city for sure.
We go there often, I confirm it's delicious...shout out

San Kamphaeng Weekend Market
This is a weekend market held on weekends.
The town of San Kamphaeng is about a 30-minute drive from Chiang Mai Airport.
The weekend market in this tranquil town is bustling with locals.
I think it would be fun to wander around and sample the local food.
