Anyuan is the cradle of the Chinese workers' movement, the birthplace of modern Chinese industry, and the source and main outbreak site of the Autumn Harvest Uprising on the border of Hunan and Jiangxi. The Anyuan Railway Mine Workers' Movement Memorial Hall is a special museum established in 1956 to collect and protect the cultural relics of the Anyuan workers' movement, and to study and publicize the history of the revolutionary struggle in Anyuan. The exhibition building was built in 1968. The museum area is 100,000 square meters, the building area is 21,341 square meters, and the exhibition hall area is 3,567 square meters (including 3,245 square meters of exhibition halls and 322 square meters of exhibition halls for the construction of clean government during the Anyuan workers' movement). The museum currently has more than 5,000 cultural relics and materials in its collection, including 61 first-level cultural relics, 67 second-level cultural relics, and 2,050 third-level cultural relics; there are 14 cultural relics protection units responsible for protection and publicity, including 4 national key cultural relics protection units, 8 provincial cultural relics protection units, 1 municipal cultural relics protection unit, and 1 district cultural relics protection unit. There are two exhibition halls, the Anyuan Labor Movement Period Clean Government Construction Exhibition Hall and the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China in Anyuan Revolutionary Activities Exhibition Hall. Since its establishment, it has received more than 50 million domestic and foreign visitors, including more than 2 million foreign guests and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan from more than 100 countries and regions in the world. On November 5, 2007, it was opened to the public for free and has received nearly 12 million visitors so far, and nearly 1.2 million visitors in 2018. The Anyuan Road Mine Workers' Movement Memorial Hall covers an area of 100,000 square meters. There are 23 immovable cultural relics protection units responsible for protection and publicity, including 6 national key cultural relics protection units, 11 Jiangxi Provincial cultural relics protection units, and 1 Pingxiang City cultural relics protection unit. There are two special exhibition halls, the Anyuan Labor Movement Period Clean Government Construction Exhibition Hall and the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China in Anyuan Revolutionary Activities Exhibition Hall. The museum area is divided into three squares, upper, middle and lower, and four areas: office area, leisure area, visit area and ecological area. The eight steps of our museum are planted with uniform cypress trees on both sides, the left and right sides of the upper square are planted with tall and majestic cedars, and the ecological forest area on the back mountain is mainly composed of camphor trees.
