All Moments About Nessebar
Nesebbar old city, 🇧🇬
Situated on a rocky peninsula on the Black Sea, the more than 3,000-year-old site of Nessebar was originally a Thracian settlement (Menebria). At the beginning of the 6th century BC, the city became a Greek colony. The city’s remains, which date mostly from the Hellenistic period, include the acropolis, a temple of Apollo, an agora and a wall from the Thracian fortifications. Among other monuments, the Stara Mitropolia Basilica and the fortress date from the Middle Ages, when this was one of the most important Byzantine towns on the west coast of the Black Sea. Wooden houses built in the 19th century are typical of the Black Sea architecture of the period. #wecreate

Old Nessebar
#OctoberGoodDestinations2024
Old Nessebar is listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO and is one of the most famous attractions in Bulgaria.
Like a little Rome, this peninsula is small in size but full of ancient history dating back to ancient Erada.
There used to be 51 churches, but now about 20 retain their original appearance. The port has some old wooden fishing boats and yachts, and is a great place for a stroll.
Take a stroll through the old town, feel the rich history, and enjoy the beautiful scenery in front of you. It is really beautiful here, don't miss it, highly recommended.

Check-in | Nessebar, Burgas.
In the ancient city, several representative churches are unforgettable. First of all, the Church of Christ Pantocrator is undoubtedly one of the most well-preserved medieval buildings. Its sturdy walls and elegant arches have witnessed the vicissitudes of history and show its unique charm.
Next is the Church of Saint John the Baptist, which is also well preserved. Although it is smaller than the Church of Christ Pantocrator, its exquisite details and quiet atmosphere leave a deep impression.
Then there is the Church of Saint Sophia. Although it has now become a ruin, the once glorious scene can still be imagined. Although the appearance has been destroyed by time, its historical and cultural value still shines.
Another church worth mentioning is the Church of the Holy Mother Eleusa next to the ancient castle. Although it has also become a ruin, due to its unique geographical location, it is built along the coastline of the peninsula, making the entire church dreamlike under the sunset. Whether from a visual effect or a photographic perspective, it is unique.
These churches are not only symbols of the ancient city, but also witnesses of history. With their unique charm and profound historical background, they attract countless tourists to visit. Every step into these ancient buildings is like traveling through time and space, talking with history.

Nesebar Old Town 🎻
#traveldiaries
I recently spent a day in Nessebar Old Town, Bulgaria, and it was a delightful trip back in time! 🏰 This UNESCO World Heritage site is packed with charming cobblestone streets, ancient churches, and beautiful sea views. The entrance to the town is free, which is fantastic considering the rich history you can explore.
Wandering through the narrow alleys, I stumbled upon quaint shops selling local crafts and delicious seafood restaurants. I highly recommend trying the fresh fish at a seaside taverna! 🐟 The highlight for me was visiting the Church of St. John the Baptist, with its stunning frescoes.
After exploring, I enjoyed a lovely walk along the waterfront, soaking in the sunset. Nearby, you can also visit the ancient ruins of the old fortifications. If you’re in Bulgaria, don’t miss this gem!

Nesebar South Beach
#beachlife
One of the better beaches in Bulgaria. Although rather small and almost always packed, there are enough paid umbrellas and deck chairs for about 6EUR per day. The sand is clean but shallow. Water is very clean and quite shallow without any steep sea floor for tens of meters. It's very appropriate for families with kids. Go for the South Beach Bar as they serve drinks and cooked food throughout the day (it's right next to the motorboats).

Sunset by the sea 💙 Nesebar, Bulgaria 🇧🇬
There is something incredibly romantic about watching the sunset by the sea. Here I have captured the sun setting over peaceful waters in my hometown - Nessebar, a pearl in the crown of the Black Sea.
If you have never been to Bulgaria and visited the old town of Nessebar - protected under UNESCO for its incredible history and architecture - then you need to change that. This Bulgarian seaside town has a lot to offer for anyone who loves good food, culture, history and the sea, of course.
My personal favourite part of town is the marina and walking down the isthmus connecting the new and old part - something which only happened by boat back in the day

The Black Sea & me in Nessebar, Bulgaria 🇧🇬
Admit it, when you are planning a trip in Europe, you would usually consider countries such as France, Spain, Italy or Germany. Maybe even Greece or Turkey. But what if I told you there is a hidden pearl in the crown of the Black Sea? This is 📍Nessebar, Bulgaria. A small town right on the Black Sea with mighty history and marks left by Romans, Byzantines and Turks... Oh, and don't get me started on the food, especially fresh seafood and good wine. Or the local rakia - a spirit made from grapes, plums or other fruit (not for the faint-hearted!). Let's leave the history and food for another post. For now, enjoy these magnificent sea views. ♥️
