Spitzkopf, a rocky mountain located near the center of the Namib Desert, is also known as the Matterhorn of Namibia. It was formed by weathering granite hundreds of millions of years ago! The highest rocky peak is 1,728m above sea level. It's very hot during the day in Namibia, so we decided to avoid the hot weather and aim for the sunset! We explored while climbing the rocky mountain until sunset. Watching the rocky mountain dyed red by the setting sun and having a drink in the great outdoors was just too good. At an altitude of about 1,700 meters, Spitzkoppe is also known as the "Matterhorn of Namibia" and is home to a spectacular array of rock formations and natural scenery⛰️✨ Here, you can spend some quiet time surrounded by nature while taking in the surrounding rocky mountains and vast desert scenery✨ The campsite has well-equipped tents and a large camping space, making it a comfortable environment for beginners and advanced campers☝🏽 At night, the sky is filled with stars🌌 There is a pool where you can see Spitzkoppe right in front of you, and the view from the dining venue is amazing! Personally, I found the open bathroom🫣🤣 and the semi-tent-shaped cottage🏕️ to be interesting! This place makes you feel like you've landed on the moon. This is Namibia's Moon Landscape! The famous movie Planet of the Apes was apparently filmed here. The granite extruded from the Earth's interior about 500 million years ago was eroded by the Swakop River, and this unique uneven terrain is reminiscent of the moon. By the way, it was scorching hot during the day. Don't forget to take precautions against heatstroke, or you'll get exhausted! A spectacular view that makes you feel like you're on the moon! This is the top of Dune Seven, the highest sand dune in Namibia 🏜️ It's located on the outskirts of Walvis Bay! A spectacular spot with blue skies and sand dunes spreading out as far as the eye can see ✨ The only way to reach the top is by walking, but the sand keeps your feet in the sand and it's hard to move forward, and the sand is just so hot 🤣 You'll get burned in sandals, so I recommend wearing sneakers! You can't see this beautiful view that spreads out at the end of the climb unless you reach the top 🥹 I'm really glad I climbed! Traveling to Spitzkoppe in Namibia was an amazing experience and an unforgettable adventure.
