This time,
This time, for a family trip over the New Year holidays, we took Thai Lion Air's Bangkok-Narita flight (SL394).
This flight resumed after COVID-19 in September 2023, but before COVID-19 it was a direct flight from Bangkok to Narita, but when it resumed, it went via Taipei.
This Taipei flight is about an hour long, and I didn't know how the transfer would be done, whether to stay on the plane or get off once, when I bought the ticket,
There was no review information on the Internet, so I thought I would record it.
Flight SL394 0935 Bangkok Don Mueang Airport - 19:25 Narita Arrival 7 hours 50 minutes Date of use: January 3, 2023
This flight passes through Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, but everyone gets off at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
Those who transfer here will be given a transit ticket when they cross the boarding bridge and get off.
After that, just follow the flow of people and you will be guided to the security checkpoint. There is always a staff member to guide you, so you won't get lost. After passing through security, head to the designated gate and boarding will have already begun. It seems that transfer passengers are boarding before passengers boarding from Taiwan. The seats are the same as for Bangkok-Taiwan. It takes about an hour and a half from when the plane lands at Taiwan Taoyuan Airport to when it takes off for Narita. So, the transfer, which I was worried about, went smoothly. Below are the advantages and disadvantages of this flight for your reference. It's been a while since I used Don Muang Airport, but international flights at Don Muang Airport are less crowded than at Suvarnabhumi, and the departure procedures and security check were smooth. There is information online that Thai Lion Air is unusually strict about baggage size and weight, but the check-in at Don Muang Airport seemed quite lenient for both carry-on and checked baggage.・I brought a golf bag, but there was no regulation on oversize items, so I could put it in within the weight limit of the regular checked baggage.
・The aircraft was a medium-sized Boeing 737? ? with three rows of seats on each side. I felt that the seat pitch was quite narrow.
・I disembarked in Taiwan. It was a hassle to get in and out with my luggage, but I could get off and walk for about an hour, so I felt refreshed if I thought of it as a moderate break and stretching.
・In addition, for smokers, Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport has a smoking area. It's great to be able to take a break on the way.
・You can buy drinks and cup ramen on the plane, but you can only pay in cash. (Thai baht and yen can be used)
So, other than the narrow seat pitch, I couldn't find many disadvantages, and although it took about an hour and a half,
I got the impression that it was a very useful flight.
