Zhuhai St. Regis Hotel Birthday Family Trip

We planned an early birthday celebration for my husband and took our child on their first overnight trip outside Zhongshan. My husband chose the Zhuhai St. Regis Hotel for a two-day, one-night stay. While there were moments that truly impressed us, there were also some minor disappointments. Here’s my honest review for anyone planning to visit! 🎂 Birthday Setup: The arrangement included six balloons, one birthday card, one welcome card, and a chocolate cake. Compared to other hotels, it felt a bit simple. However, the cake was surprisingly delicious—better than the $88 cheesecake we ordered later! Unfortunately, the cake was delivered in the evening after check-in, which lacked a sense of ceremony. Also, the hotel no longer provides the bunny plush unless it’s your actual birthday. Luckily, we mentioned we had a child during check-in, and they gave us one. My friend was initially refused, but after I spoke to a different staff member, they managed to get one too. Interestingly, my bunny came in a plastic bag, while my friend’s was in a beautiful pink box—such a stark contrast! 😂 Thankfully, my child loved the bunny, and its quality was indeed excellent. 👶 Baby Services: We requested a baby crib, children’s toiletries, a small tent, bed rails, and a baby bathtub. However, the hotel lacks a kids’ play area and doesn’t provide a bottle warmer or sterilizer. The bed rails were unstable, and the children’s slippers were initially blue; we had to ask the butler to switch them to pink. 🏨 Room Experience: We stayed in a 55th-floor river-view cross-shaped room. The view and decor were stunning, and the bed was very comfortable! However, the bathroom and toilet had fully transparent doors, which felt awkward. The hairdryer was basic, the toilet wasn’t smart, and the minibar was fully chargeable. The toiletries had average scent and quality, and I found them priced at just a few dozen yuan on Taobao. On the bright side, the wooden comb was a nice touch. 💳 Credit Usage: The $50 dining credit could be used for breakfast or other meals. The $50 spa credit was less useful, as it was limited to packages costing $1,000–$2,000, making it hard to utilize. 🏊 Pool Facilities: The hotel has both indoor and outdoor pools, but they’re relatively small and narrow. The water temperature is constant, and the water quality is clean. There’s also a hot water massage pool, a steam room, and heated beds. The outdoor pool is open until 5 PM, while the indoor pool is available until 11 PM. 🍽️ Breakfast Experience: The food selection wasn’t extensive, but I recommend the rice rolls and shrimp dumplings. The eggs Benedict was average. They provide children’s tableware and bibs. ⏰ Other Services: We successfully requested a late checkout until 2 PM. Unfortunately, we missed the evening ritual at the lounge at 6 PM. The card engraving machine was broken, so personalized cards were unavailable. The card design was ordinary and not worth collecting. The 24-hour butler service responded faster at night and offered free TWG tea bags, coffee, and milk. You can also book a bubble bath service (remember to book early!). Tissue refills were prompt, and bottled water was provided in unlimited quantities. Overall, there were highlights and drawbacks.
