Celebrated my birthday at Zhuhai Alila, taking a 40-minute ferry ride to Dong'ao Island. Upon arrival, the hotel shuttle was ready to pick us up—perfect for those who prefer convenience! 🏝️ 🌿 Stunning Public Spaces Nestled between mountains and the sea, the hotel's design exudes a serene Zen vibe. The sunken pool reflects the blue skies and white clouds, while the trendy bamboo archways make for Instagram-worthy shots. My favorite activity was strolling along the boardwalk, gazing at the sparkling waters of Lingding Bay, with the salty sea breeze in the air. Even the lounge chairs in the lobby bar offer unbeatable ocean views—order a cocktail and spend a lazy afternoon unwinding. It's pure bliss! 🍽️ Minor Flaws but Excellent Service The dining experience was a slight letdown; both Cantonese and Western dishes were just average. However, the service more than made up for it! Knowing it was my birthday, the staff decorated the room with balloons and gifted me a dessert cake 🎂. They greeted us with warm smiles and proactively shared tips on exploring the island, making every detail feel thoughtful and heartwarming. 🚗 Handy Travel Tips ▪️ Purchase ferry tickets in advance via the "Xiangzhou Port" public account; opt for window seats to enjoy the views. ▪️ The hotel offers free water activities (kayaking, paddleboarding)—remember to book in advance. ▪️ Bring mosquito repellent as the island has quite a few bugs. Despite the average food, the stunning sea views and tranquil atmosphere make it worth the trip!
