Zhuhai Hengqin Flower Corridor: Embrace the Pink Season

Address: Hengqin Avenue, Hengqin New Area, Zhuhai City (Recommended starting point: Station 1) Last year, I took advantage of a leisurely weekend to hop on a high-speed train for a short trip to Zhuhai, and I made sure to visit the famous Hengqin Flower Corridor. It had just rained for a few days, leaving the weather cool and refreshing, with soft sunlight that wasn’t harsh. The flowers were in full bloom, creating a surreal sea of pink, yellow, and orange hues along the entire corridor. I started my walk at Station 1, where the kapok trees were so stunning that words couldn’t do them justice. The entire tree was cloaked in pink, and from a distance, it felt like stepping into a Monet painting. There were ponds, observation towers, and some charming little installations that added a playful touch. Every corner was picture-perfect, and I ended up taking so many photos that my phone was nearly full. Walking along, I found myself being extra careful not to step on the flowers, and I felt a newfound sense of gentleness. After walking a bit further, I reached Station 2, which had a slightly different vibe. The rooftop there was a popular spot for photos, offering a panoramic view of the endless floral landscape. Along the way, there were plenty of kids enjoying the play areas, giving the space a lively and relaxed atmosphere that felt far from commercialized. What I appreciated most was that the entire corridor was free to enter, and parking was quite affordable. On that weekday, I parked for nearly two hours and spent less than HK$10. If you plan to visit on a weekend, it’s best to arrive early, as I’ve heard it can get crowded. However, as long as you avoid midday, it shouldn’t feel too packed. That day, I only managed to explore the first two stations, and I already felt a bit tired—but it was the kind of pleasant fatigue brought on by nature, scenery, fresh air, and sunlight. Back at the hotel, as I looked through my album filled with rows of pink photos, I could only think to myself, "Totally worth it." Sometimes, life doesn’t need elaborate plans. All it takes is a sunny day and a path lined with flowers to make you fall in love with the world all over again. I hope I can return during this year’s blooming season, bringing someone special along to walk that romantic path I discovered last year.
