Enjoying peonies in the capital on a spring day

I decided to take a half-day tour of the core area of the capital on Sunday afternoon, specifically to admire the peonies. Planning the route is crucial. The peonies in Jingshan Park are already famous and not to be missed. However, taking public transportation to Beihai Park is more convenient. Driving is out of the question, as there is no parking in the core area. First, take the subway to the North Gate of Beihai, then walk along the east side road to the East Gate of Beihai. Along the way, you can enjoy the peonies in Beihai Park, which are fewer in number and smaller in scale. Exiting the East Gate, you'll face the West Gate of Jingshan Park. The peonies in Jingshan are grand in scale; the park is full of them. This year, there's also a food street, and of course, peonies are not to be missed there either, along with a peony painting exhibition. Without further ado, take a look at the pictures. After leaving Jingshan Park, you can walk along Tongzi River to the Workers' Cultural Palace. Now, the South Gate is only for exit, not entry, but you can enter and exit through the East and West Gates. I highly recommend the Cultural Palace, where the ticket is only 2 yuan, and it's much less crowded than Jingshan Park. The peonies are plentiful, and you can get a closer look, unlike in Jingshan Park, where you can only look from a distance, with ropes around them. In the Cultural Palace, you can take your time to savor the peonies, draw them among the flowers, or rest on a bench surrounded by blooms. It's truly lovely. A half-day spent admiring the imperial peonies at the foot of the imperial city is time well spent. Feel free to copy this itinerary
