Heishen Temple in Zhijin

In Pingyuan Ancient Town, Zhijin County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province, as a part of the ancient city of Zhijin, seamlessly connects with the ancient city of Zhijin. Relying on the cultural history of 'Baozhen's hometown, Cave Heaven Zhijin', and with the cultural positioning of 'Lotus Leaf Lotus City, Misty Rain Ancient Town', it seeks inspiration in local architectural features, ethnic customs, and the beauty of mountains and waters. In Pingyuan Ancient Town, a solitary peak rises from the ground, with cliffs on three sides, and only the southeast side has a stone path leading to the top of the mountain. The solitary peak is exquisite, shaded by ancient trees, and there is a cave penetrating north to south under the white cliff on the southwest side of the mountain, which from a distance looks like the wooden fish struck by monks, known as Fish Mountain. On the mountain, there are Heishen Temple, Jizhen Pavilion, Library Tower, Qiezhuting Pavilion, and various sizes of cliff carvings. Heishen Temple and its opposite hall are national key cultural relics protection units. Heishen Temple is a temple in Guizhou dedicated to the worship of the Black God Meng Huo. It is said that the Black God is a deity established by the local people in Guizhou to worship the barbarian king Meng Huo. In many places in Guizhou Province, there are Heishen Temples, and many places are named after Heishen Temple. According to legend, the Black God controls the wind, and the 13th day of the fifth lunar month is the Black God Festival. If it is windy on that day, people say it is because it is the Black God Festival, and the wind is normal.
