Green Island in the Ancient City - Zhangzhou Zhongshan Park

🌟Highlights: Zhangzhou Zhongshan Park was originally the site of the Zhangzhou Prefecture's government office, which had buildings, terraces, pavilions, and a back garden. After the Xinhai Revolution, the old government office lost its function and gradually fell into disrepair. In August 1918, the Guangdong Army marched into Zhangzhou and established the "Southern Fujian Protection Zone," turning it into a park. It was the first park in Zhangzhou, covering an area of about 160,000 square meters. 👍Strolling leisurely in a southern park in winter, you won't feel any cold, as if it's spring in Shanghai. The park is lush with trees, blocking the warm sun. If it weren't for the red lanterns hanging on the trees, you wouldn't even realize it's New Year's Eve. 👍The orange-red flowers of the firecracker vine at the park's main entrance hang in clusters, resembling firecrackers from a distance, adding a festive touch and decorating the stone tablets left by the old government office. This flower is common in Fujian, and I was impressed by it last year at the Qingjing Mosque in Quanzhou and Gulangyu Island in Xiamen. 👍The park doesn't close even after 10 pm, and it seems like it never closes. People still pass through the east and west gates, and the festive atmosphere is even stronger at night.
