Read This Guide Before Visiting Mount Sanqing

👍🏻Why We Recommend: Friends! If you love ethereal mountain scenery and can't resist nature's incredible stone sculptures, then Mount Sanqing is absolutely your dream mountain! I just visited and can confirm that even lazy travelers can easily explore it and have an amazing time~ 🗺Attraction Introduction: Mount Sanqing's scenery is truly spectacular! When surrounded by clouds and mist, the entire mountain looks like a fairyland straight out of a fantasy drama - every casual photo will blow up your social media. The mountain also features numerous naturally formed stone sculptures, such as "Giant Python Emerging" and "Oriental Goddess," with shapes so realistic they'll leave you in awe of nature's wonders! 🚗Transportation: 📍Mount Sanqing is located in Yushan County, Shangrao City. The closest high-speed rail stations are Shangrao Station and Yushan Station. Distance-wise, Yushan Station is closer, but there are very few buses to Mount Sanqing, so Shangrao Station is more recommended! 🚌From Shangrao Station to Mount Sanqing, you can take a bus for 47 yuan with a journey time of about 1.5 hours. The last bus departs at 4 PM. The bus can take you to Shuangwaixi and Jinsha cable car stations at Mount Sanqing. Additionally, if you're coming from Wuyuan, you can book a direct bus to Mount Sanqing, which is super convenient as it goes straight to the foot of the mountain! The fare is 35 yuan, also taking about 1.5 hours, with the last bus at 5 PM. However, this is a mid-sized bus, so it might not be as comfortable~ Friends, for all the public transportation options mentioned above, you can scan the QR code on page 14 to book tickets online in advance, which is super convenient! 🗺Touring Routes: Mount Sanqing has two cable car stations - Jinsha and Waishuangxi, which serve as the southern and northern entrances to the scenic area. Jinsha cable car is closer to the core attractions but tends to be more crowded and doesn't offer a hiking trail up the mountain; Waishuangxi cable car is less crowded and offers the option to hike up. I chose Jinsha cable car because I planned to walk a circular route, so it doesn't matter much which cable car you take up. I went the day before Qingming Festival and only spent about 15 minutes queuing for the cable car both up and down, avoiding the peak season ticket number system. However, by the next day, they started using the number system, so try to avoid holidays! If you want an easy trip that covers all the highlights, I strongly recommend taking the middle circuit! It takes about 6 hours in total and doesn't require backtracking. The route is: Jinsha Cable Car → Giant Python Emerging → Oriental Goddess → Azalea Valley → Jade Platform → Sunshine Coast → West Coast → Jinsha Cable Car. This route covers basically all of Mount Sanqing's highlights~ 🍱Food Recommendations: I should warn you that prices on the mountain are not cheap, as everything has to be carried up by people. Items like grilled sausages and corn cost 15 yuan each, and a cup of soy milk is 20 yuan. I suggest bringing your own snacks and water, or waiting until you come down the mountain for a proper meal! 💰Costs: The entrance ticket plus round-trip cable car costs 245 yuan total. This price includes direct cable car access up and down the mountain and entry to the entire scenic area, which I think is reasonable value~ 📌Other Tips: 1️⃣Sanqing Temple is currently closed. Be sure to check opening times before you go to avoid a wasted trip! 2️⃣Sunshine Coast and West Coast are really worth visiting - they're less crowded, the paths aren't too steep, and they're great for photos and views! 3️⃣If you take the middle circuit, uphill sections only account for about a quarter of the journey, with the rest being downhill or flat terrain, making it very friendly for those who aren't in great shape! 4️⃣For accommodation, I stayed at Sanqing Mountain Yuanzhou Hotel next to the Jinsha cable car station, just a few hundred meters from the scenic area entrance. You can see mountain views right from your window - the location is fantastic!
