#chinatravel Okay so the Red Stone Forest in Xinjiang is straight up wild. It looks like someone just dropped a bunch of giant red sculptures in the middle of nowhere. The rocks are all super dramatic and spiky with these weird shapes that make you go “wait what am I even looking at?” in the best way.
The vibe is super peaceful too. Not a ton of people around which makes it feel like you’ve discovered some secret alien planet. We wandered through the formations for a couple hours just taking it all in and snapping pics. Every turn felt like a totally new scene.
There’s not much shade so definitely bring a hat and some water if you’re going during the day. And wear sneakers because you’ll want to climb around a bit.
Honestly it was such a cool surprise. If you’re anywhere near Kuqa or exploring southern Xinjiang this spot is totally worth the detour.
