The Yi Village in Daliang Mountains

Unlike other mountains in Sichuan, the Daliang Mountains feature gentle and wide ridges with fragile ecosystems dominated by sandstone and limestone. The limited arable land and challenging transportation due to steep terrain make long-term living here exceptionally difficult—requiring more than just mental resilience. That's why I deeply admire the young volunteers who teach here, some staying for years—they're truly remarkable people! The photo shows a typical Yi village in the heart of Daliang Mountains, with traditional dark blue roofs and yellow/white walls, topped by "En Niao" (eagle) statues on the rooftops. On clear days, it exudes unique charm.
