The Stele Forest Museum of Xi'an, known for its collection of steles and stone scriptures, is unparalleled

Located at No. 15 Sanxue Street, Beilin District, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, it covers an area of 31,900 square meters with an exhibition area of 4,900 square meters. It mainly consists of the Confucius Temple, the Stele Forest, the Stone Carving Art Room, and the Stone Carving Art Museum. It is a local thematic museum mainly for the collection, research, and display of steles, tombstones, and stone carvings from various dynasties. In the 33rd year of the Republic of China (1944), the Shaanxi Provincial History Museum was established in the Stele Forest. In 1953, the Confucius Temple was expanded into the Shaanxi Provincial History Museum. In 1991, the new Shaanxi History Museum officially opened, and the Stele Forest was separated from the Provincial Museum to become an independent museum - the Xi'an Stele Forest Museum. The museum has 13,568 pieces/sets of collections, including 2,281 pieces/sets of precious cultural relics, held 8 exhibitions, conducted 285 educational activities, and received 876,800 visitors. The museum has been rated as the first batch of national first-class museums and the 'National Primary and Secondary School Students' Research and Practice Education Base'.
