From the moment you step into Si Jian Shi Shan, you'll be captivated by the tranquil power flowing through its spatial narrative. The designer transforms the natural textures of Wuyi Mountain into a spatial language, embracing a "local" design philosophy. The exterior, crafted from locally sourced red sandstone and rammed earth, echoes the surrounding Danxia landforms, as if the building itself has organically emerged from the mountainside. Located on the top floor within a geometrically sloped ceiling space, the guest rooms offer breathtaking 270° views of Jade Maiden Peak, the Nine-Bend Stream, and the tea fields through expansive glass curtain walls. A specially designed tatami tea area is equipped with a Zhengyan Rougui tea set. Each room features an intelligent lighting system, and the bed linens, a blend of linen and organic cotton, reflect the simple essence of mountain living. The restaurant incorporates the essence of Da Hong Pao tea into local delicacies such as Pucheng sweet-scented osmanthus rice cakes and Langu smoked goose egg tarts. Freshly ground soy milk is paired with Zhuzi's filial piety mother cake, and the tableware is exclusively crafted from matte black porcelain fired in Jianyang's Jian kilns. Must-try dishes include the Shuiliandong cold-brewed abalone and tea-oil slow-roasted river fish. The spa offers medicinal baths made with Wuyi Mountain herbs, complemented by bamboo cupping therapy. After the rain, you can hear the natural white noise of the rushing stream below. The library houses over 300 books related to Wuyi Mountain, ranging from the "Wuyi Mountain Records" to contemporary tea studies, accompanied by Vitra-designed reading chairs. A 10-minute walk leads to the Ming and Qing Dynasty ancient residential complex of Xiamei Village, where the descendants of the Zou family still reside within the exquisitely carved brick gatehouses. Seven kilometers north lies the ruins of Wuyi Jingshe, founded by Zhu Xi, where the cliff inscription "Time flows like this" is preserved.
