Not Dali! It's really Wuhan...

Never expected to find such a cozy and leisurely corner in Caidian, Wuhan! Just about a 40-minute drive from the city center, you can escape to the countryside—scenic and uncrowded. Strolling through nearby villages at dusk to embrace slow living is incredibly healing!! 🔖 My itinerary: 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝟭: 🕑 𝟭𝟱:𝟯𝟬 📍 Xiyangleizhu·Suohe This homestay is surrounded by rural fields, featuring a sleek, minimalist design with natural tones—earthy grays and warm yellow lighting, creating a serene and cozy vibe!!! The first-floor common area has floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, and when the afternoon sun streams in, the play of light and shadows feels magical!!! 🕑 𝟭𝟳:𝟬𝟬 📍 No. 32, Dengjiamen This spot is a renovated old village house—I absolutely love its raw, natural ambiance! Sitting by the floor-to-ceiling windows, lost in thought... For a moment, I felt like I was back in Jingdezhen!! 🕑 𝟭𝟵:𝟬𝟬 📍 Fishing Village Dubbed Wuhan's "Little Jeju," it's just 2 km (a 5-minute drive) from the café! On clear days, the blue lake, white houses, and dusky evening hues make for stunning live photos!!! (Not recommended as a standalone destination!) 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝟮: 🕑 𝟵:𝟬𝟬 📍 Lotus Pond After breakfast, we headed to the lotus pond near the homestay 🪷. You can pick lotus seed pods and eat them fresh—so sweet! The vast rice fields radiate summer vibes, making every shot picture-perfect... 🕑 𝟭𝟬:𝟬𝟬 📍 Songyang Temple A renowned royal temple from the Tang Dynasty, nestled between mountains and water, with grand architecture similar to Baotong Temple—but no entrance fee and fewer crowds! Far from urban noise, it offers inner peace 😌 (Currently under renovation with barriers at the entrance 😭, but a local auntie let us in after we bought incense—basically lifting the barrier to sneak in 😂. It’s said to reopen in about two weeks!) 🍚 Food notes: The area is rural with no restaurants or supermarkets 😭, but the homestay serves decent meals in a lovely setting!! (Open to the public 🈺, but reservations are required!) 🥵 Wuhan summers are scorching, with afternoon feels-like temps around 40°C. Avoid midday outings, wear sunscreen, and don’t forget bug spray!!!
