WUHAN | YELLOW CRANE TOWER

#discoverchina The Yellow Crane Tower (黄鹤楼) is a historic and cultural landmark located in Wuhan’s Wuchang District, overlooking the Yangtze River. Originally built in 223 AD during the Three Kingdoms period, the tower has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times, with the current structure completed in 1985. Standing at 51.4 meters tall, it features distinctive yellow glazed tiles and upturned eaves designed to resemble a crane in flight. The tower has inspired numerous poems, especially during the Tang Dynasty, cementing its status as one of China’s Four Great Towers.
