Peak cherry blossom season at East Lake Cherry Blossom Park

East Lake Cherry Blossom Park was the initial reason for this trip and the final destination. To be honest, I'd already spent a few days in Wuhan and, apart from noticing quite a few small cherry blossom trees planted along the roads, I hadn't really understood why people said you should come to Wuhan to see cherry blossoms. Even after visiting Wuhan University, I still felt the same. That is, until today, when I entered East Lake Cherry Blossom Park. Right now, the large Somei Yoshino cherry trees are at their peak, a magnificent display of white tinged with pale pink! 🌈Highlights: East Lake Moshan Cherry Blossom Park has 10,000 cherry trees, most of which were planted through a joint Sino-Japanese investment in 1998. East Lake Cherry Blossom Park, Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Park in Aomori Prefecture, Japan, and the cherry blossom park in Washington State, USA, are known as the world's top three cherry blossom capitals. 🌸Best viewing times (for reference): Early cherry blossoms (pink early American cherry blossoms‌): mid-March; Mid-season cherry blossoms (white Somei Yoshino, the largest and most spectacular): late March; Late cherry blossoms (purple-pink Yaezakura, deep pink Kanzan): late March to early April. ‼️Once the cherry blossoms begin to open due to temperature conditions, they will reach full bloom within three to five days, and the flowering period is only five or six days (it may be shorter if there is heavy rain). Therefore, the timing from previous years is only for reference. It is recommended to pay attention to local flowering forecasts, as well as live streams and online posts. 🚗Transportation: Transportation to the park is honestly not very convenient. Driving can be congested, and there's no direct subway line. However, there are a few special bus routes during the cherry blossom season for 5 yuan per person. We happened to see one at Baotong Temple Station on Line 2 when we were waiting for bus 413 to go to the Cherry Blossom Park. It was faster than the regular bus and avoided most of the congested sections near the park, stopping directly at the park entrance. On the return trip, it also stops at the Yellow Crane Tower. 🎫Tickets: 60 yuan. It is recommended to buy online one day in advance for 55 yuan. Seniors over 65 are admitted free of charge and can directly enter through a special channel with their ID, no ticket exchange required. ✨Tips: Food in the park is naturally not too cheap. There are some aesthetically pleasing cultural and creative food items you can buy if you like, but it's still recommended to bring your own snacks. There are plenty of green spaces where you can sit, but please be civilized and don't enter or trample on areas enclosed by fences. Drones are probably not allowed, but I did see several flying. Try to come on a working day, as the crowds won't be as overwhelming, which can seriously impact your experience.
