How to visit Yellow Crane Tower like an absolute expert (Which I am not)

I spent the day at Yellow Crane Tower, one of the most famous landmarks in China. Did I do thorough research before going? No. Did I still have an amazing time? Absolutely. Here’s my foolproof guide for anyone who, like me, just shows up and hopes for the best: 🌴 Attractions Overview – There’s a giant, ancient tower that looks straight out of a movie. It has several floors, some stairs, and a solid panoramic view at the top. The surrounding area has gardens, temples, and statues of cranes that I assume are important. 🗺️ Travel Guide – My travel strategy was simple: follow the crowd and pretend I know where I’m going. Worked like a charm. 📷 Photo Spots – The entire place is a photographer’s dream. Unfortunately, I am not a photographer. So enjoy my slightly blurry, poorly framed shots of a historical masterpiece. 🎫 Tickets – Entry cost me around 9€, which felt reasonable for such a famous site. Paid, walked in, and hoped I didn’t miss any hidden extras. 🚗 Transportation – Took a cab to get there. Taxis in China are actually pretty cheap, so it was an easy and convenient choice. 🕝 Opening Hours – It was open when I got there. It was open when I left. That’s the extent of my knowledge. 💡 Pro Tips (from someone who barely planned this trip): ✔️ Learn some Chinese. Or just accept that you’ll be guessing what you’re eating and buying (shoutout to my random crane-themed souvenirs). ✔️ Try the street food. I had two sausages from a food stand and honestly? Solid choice. ✔️ Bring water. Not because the climb is impossible, but because walking around all day will have you thirsty. Final review: 7/10, a great spot to visit, take in the views, and enjoy a piece of history. If you’re ever in Wuhan, this place is worth your time. #lostbutthriving #yellowcranetower #professionaltourist

Yellow Crane Tower

The Yellow Crane Tower is Wuhan's most famous attraction. The original 黄鹤楼 was built in AD 223 but it has been rebuilt several times since then. In fact, the tower has been said to mirror the fortunes of China itself. The previous iteration burnt down in the late Qing Dynasty, when Wuhan was a treaty port forced open by the Great Powers. The current version, a convincing copy of the Qing tower (with the addition of a lift for those unable to climb the many stairs) was built during the PRC's opening up in the 1980s. Yellow Crane Tower overlooks the Yangtze and is in a lovely park containing another tower, tranquil gardens and a giant bell you can ring for a modest donation. I recommend going in the mid- to late-afternoon so you can spend a couple of hours enjoying the park before climbing the tower in time to see the sunset. Admission is a little steep but don't cheap out. It's really worth going if you're in Wuhan. #qingmingtravel #urbanexplorer #lightthecity #wuhan #hubei #yellowcranetower #tower #pagoda #views #photography #weekendtrip #roadtrip #history #historical #historicallandmarks
