Tagish Lake, Yukon, Canada

Tagish Lake is a lake in the Yukon and northern British Columbia, Canada. The lake is more than 100 kilometers long and about 2 kilometers wide. It has two tributaries, the long Taku on the east side, which is mainly in British Columbia, and the Windy Arm on the west side, which is mainly in the Yukon Territory. On January 18, 2000, a carbonaceous chondrite, now called "Tagish Lake", fell on the frozen surface of the Taku Arm, so the Chinese name of this lake on Google Maps is "Tagish Lake Meteorite". Researchers from the University of Calgary, the University of Western Ontario and NASA discovered and studied the meteorite fragments, which are now in the collection of the University of Alberta.
