Haw Phra Kaew, Vientiane, the former home of the Emerald Buddha

This temple was built to enshrine the Emerald Buddha that was invited from Lanna. But after Laos lost the war, the Emerald Buddha was invited to be enshrined at Wat Phra Kaew in Thailand instead. Ho Phra Kaew is now a museum that displays ancient religious art. There are beautiful, old, and intact Buddha statues on display inside (photos are not allowed inside). Ho Phra Kaew as you see today has been renovated many times.
