If you're visiting Vientiane, Laos, make sure to stay overnight and check out the "Night Market." Vientiane, often referred to as the world's most uneventful capital, is actually a city full of unique charm. While some travelers opt for a day trip to other cities or Luang Prabang, I highly recommend spending a night here and exploring the Night Market along the Mekong River. The market offers a distinct atmosphere you won't find in Japan, with street stalls selling everything from mysterious, unbelievably cheap daily goods and clothing to unique items whose origins are unknown. Unlike other Southeast Asian night markets, you won't find many stalls selling typical souvenirs here, which adds to its uniqueness.
