Minatogawa Stateside Town (Minatogawa Foreigners' Residential Area) is a town that was established in the 1960s (some say the 1950s). This area was built during the postwar US military occupation as a private rental property for US military personnel and their families who needed more space on the base. There is a sign with a map of the area near the entrance to the town, and each street is named after a US state. There are currently about 60 buildings. There are also regular residential areas, so please be careful about taking photos and making noise. The town is filled with a wide variety of shops, including cafes, restaurants, miscellaneous goods, and apparel. It's a recommended tourist spot in Urasoe!
