I went to Tsuchiura Castle Ruins🏯, which is a 15-minute walk from Tsuchiura Station!!! The castle itself is no longer there, but it has been turned into a park with the East and West Towers, a section, and a moat🛝 There are also gates remaining from the Edo period, so you can feel the atmosphere of a castle!!! The Honmaru Yaguramon gate at the entrance to the castle has been built since the Edo period, and it is said to be very rare that a gate from that time remains along with the hourly drums that tell the time👀 It is said that Tsuchiura Castle is the only one in the Kanto region🏯 The Honmaru and East Tower were burned down in a fire in the Meiji era, but the Honmaru Yaguramon gate escaped the disaster and is still standing today.
