Hanazono Inari-jinja Shrine

This is a famous shrine in Ueno Park. There are so many red torii gates in this temple, you can see them at the entrance and along the staircase all the way to the main temple hall. I read the travel book and it says the Torii gates are coated with red because Japanese believe that red can drive away evil spirits. The torii gates were gifted by believers. The more torii gates the temple has, the more spiritual the temple is. Worth visiting for its unique architecture, not just religion purpose. Beautiful and peaceful shrine in the middle of Ueno Park where you can get away from hectic and busy lives.
