On a summer night in Tokyo, 2,000 lanterns, filled with people's gratitude, hope, and wishes for peace, flicker on the surface of the moat, creating a fantastic sight✨ Originally, lantern floating is a custom held during the Obon period, in which spirits (the souls of ancestors) float down the river on lanterns, hoping to return to the afterlife beyond the sea🧐 (Although they do not float into the sea here) It is said that Chidorigafuchi started this event in 1958 to heal the hearts of people after the war💡 Date and time: July 24th and 25th, 2024 16:30-20:00 *Cancelled in the event of rain or bad weather Location: Chidorigafuchi [⚠️Notes on participating in this event⚠️] ・Boats are only available to those who make a reservation in advance! Normally you can ride a rowboat at Chidorigafuchi, but on this day it is only available to those who make a reservation! You can get it together with the lantern. *Reservations are already closed (it costs 10,000 yen) - Advance reservations are required for both lanterns and purchases! Reservations are open until July 22nd! 2,000 yen Pickup is from 4:30pm to 7pm on the day Pickup location is Chidorigafuchi boat dock - Even if you buy a lantern, you cannot float it yourself.
