[Kuzuya Goryo Shrine/Tokyo] A shrine surrounded by tall trees

Kuzugaya Goryo Shrine in Shinjuku, Tokyo 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 It is pronounced "Kuzugaya Goryo Jinja". It is located on the east side of Tetsugakudo Park, and is a short 4-minute walk away. The four deities enshrined are: Emperor Chuai Empress Jingu Emperor Ojin Takeuchi no Sukune During the Kanji era (1087-1094), when Minamoto no Yoshiie was conquering Oshu, the clan of Katsura Village in Yamashiro Province followed Yoshiie's army. It is said that on their way home, the clan stopped here to enshrine the local deity Hachimangu (Emperor Chuai and Emperor Ojin), Empress Jingu, and Takeuchi no Sukune. Every year in January, the Bisha Festival is held, in which people shoot their bows in prayer for a good harvest. The first thing you see when you arrive is the towering black pine at the entrance to the shrine grounds. It's a powerful tree that seems to cover the road.
