Atagoyama is the highest mountain in the 23 wards. Atago Shrine is located on Atagoyama. Otokozaka has a total of 86 stone steps. The slope is about 40 degrees. It's scary to look back while climbing 😱 These stone steps are called the Stone Steps of Success. When Tokugawa Iemitsu passed in front of him, he instructed his retainers to climb the steps on horseback and pick the plums! While everyone was scared of the steep slope, Magaki Heikuro climbed up and down on his horse 🐴 and presented them to the shrine. Although he was unknown, he became known throughout the country because of this act! ️ On a personal note, there is the Tazaki Shinya Wine Salon🍷 behind this shrine, and more than 10 years ago, I went there for nearly half a year to get a wine qualification, and I visited Atago Shrine⛩ every time, so this shrine was very kind to me. Currently, major construction work👷 is being carried out to improve the grounds.
