Don’t Miss This Must-Hike in NZ: Hooker Valley at Mount Cook🏔

Hiking the Hooker Valley Track with my Malaysian friend gang was one of the most stunning and unforgettable parts of our New Zealand trip. We drove from Lake Tekapo to Aoraki/Mount Cook and parked at the White Horse Hill Campground, which is right at the trailhead—super convenient! The track itself was easy and well-marked, perfect for our mixed fitness levels. We crossed three swing bridges, passed crystal-clear streams, and were surrounded by breathtaking alpine views the entire way. The highlight was definitely reaching Hooker Lake, where we saw floating icebergs with the majestic Mount Cook standing tall behind—it felt like a scene from a postcard. We took so many photos and just soaked in the beauty. The hike took us about 3.5 hours round-trip with plenty of stops to enjoy the scenery. If you’re in the area, don’t miss this hike.
