The first King Taksin Shrine in Thailand

It was built in 1947 and has been with Tak Province for more than 70 years. - The shrine of King Taksin the Great was originally located at Wat Doi Khao Kaew before the people of Tak agreed that it should be moved and rebuilt to be worthy of his honor. They asked the Fine Arts Department to cast a statue of King Taksin the Great in a graceful position sitting on a throne with a sword draped over his lap. Inside, there are beautiful murals telling the story of his heroic actions in saving the nation.
