Shaoshuai Zen Garden

Shaoshuai Zen Garden was built in the 1920s. Formerly known as "Xin Gao Hotel", it is quite famous in Beitou Hot Spring District. It was used by the Japanese army as a comfort place on the eve of the Kamikaze Special Attack Force. In the 1960s, Northeastern Young Marshal Zhang Xueliang and his wife Zhao Yidi were imprisoned and lived here. Shaoshuai Zen Garden has studied the menus and diet from Marshal Zhang's residence to the Zhang couple's later residence in Taiwan. It strictly selects fresh ingredients according to the season, designs creative cooking methods in accordance with the seasons, and uses distinctive utensils to present the dishes with both color, aroma and taste.
