Taipei Tianhou Temple, located near Ximen Station

It is located just a short walk from Ximen Station. This is a temple for the Taoist goddess Mazu, who is worshipped in Taiwan as the patron deity of navigation and fishing. The entrance is hidden away in between the shopping streets, so you can't see the whole picture at first glance, but if you look from the second floor, you can see the magnificent roof decorations. The calm atmosphere makes you forget the hustle and bustle of the city. When I went there in the morning, there were locals praying fervently.
