We arrived at Mudu Ancient Town on a warm summer afternoon, where the stone-paved streets shimmered slightly under the sun 🌞🏘️🛶. The canals cut quietly between white-walled houses, their dark wooden beams casting deep shadows along the walkways. Willows dipped into the water, and the air carried the scent of river moss, tea, and faint incense from nearby temples 🌿🍵🏞️.
We wandered through the old gardens Yan’s Garden and Hongyin Mountain Villa where pavilions stood over lotus ponds and rockeries offered a cool refuge from the heat 🌸🎋🪨. Every corner seemed to hold a hush of history, softened by the hum of cicadas and the occasional splash of a passing boat. Mudu felt calm and lived-in, where the still water and old stone whispered that life here had always moved slowly, especially in the thick breath of summer 🕰️🌊🍃.
