The Surabaya Zoo(KBS)

The Surabaya Zoo (KBS) was first established based on the Decree of the Governor General of the Dutch East Indies dated 31 August 1916 No. 40, with the name Soerabaiasche Planten-en Dierentuin (Surabaya Botanical and Animal Gardens) for the services of a journalist named H.F.K. Kommer has a hobby of collecting animals. From a financial perspective, H.F.K Kommer received help from several people who had sufficient capital. The first KBS location was in Kaliondo, in 1916. Then on September 28 1917 it moved to Jalan Groedo.
