Nice, the jewel of the South of France, full of Mediterranean colours and scents

#July Travel Support Fund From the moment I arrived in Nice, the warm sunlight and cobalt blue sea made me excited for the trip. The scenery of red roofs and pastel-colored buildings contained the romance of the South of France. First, I walked along the Promenade des Anglais. The coastal promenade paralleling the sea was accompanied by a gentle breeze and the sound of waves, and just sitting on a beach chair and looking out at the Mediterranean Sea made me feel at ease. I could feel the vitality of Nice in the alleys of the Old Town (Vinice). Yellow and orange buildings lined the narrow, winding alleys, and small cafes and shops were tucked away. In particular, the Cours Saleya market was filled with the scent of flowers, herbs, and fresh fruits, conveying the daily lives of the locals. When I climbed up to the Colline du Château observation deck on the hill, I could see the Nice coast, the old town, and the endless Mediterranean Sea at a glance. The red sky and sea at sunset were truly picturesque. Finally, we finished the day with a seafood platter and rose wine at a seaside restaurant.
