But tucked away from the urban buzz lies a space that truly touched my heart — Montreal Green Park. I stumbled upon this spot while exploring the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough, and it quickly became my favorite place in the city to unwind. Unlike the more famous Mount Royal Park or Jean-Drapeau, Montreal Green Park (also known as Parc Vert de Montréal) feels like a hidden local treasure. It’s not flashy or crowded — and that’s exactly what makes it special. As soon as I entered, I was welcomed by wide green lawns, clean pathways, and the cheerful sounds of families enjoying their day. There are shaded areas perfect for reading or journaling, a well-equipped playground for children, and open fields that invite spontaneous picnics and frisbee games. What mattered most to me was the peaceful energy. In a city full of motion, this park gave me a moment of stillness. I spent a quiet afternoon sitting on a bench, watching golden leaves fall in October, sipping local coffee, and simply breathing. Sometimes, that’s all you need. Best time to visit? Late spring (May–June) for blooming greenery and fresh air. Early fall (September–October) for stunning foliage and cooler temperatures. Mornings and early evenings are ideal if you want quiet time with fewer people around. Getting there: Located in Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, the park is accessible by STM bus routes or a short walk from Namur or Plamondon Metro Stations. It’s very stroller- and pet-friendly.
